Ella se trouve dans les collines d’Uva ou l’escarpement plonge vers les plaines du sud, et les cours d’eau qui descendent de ce rebord produisent une serie de cascades a courte distance en voiture de la ville. Ce voyage en utilise deux pour la descente en rappel, descendant la roche humide sur une corde avec des instructeurs gerant le systeme depuis le sommet.

Descendre en rappel une cascade est different d’une descente sur roche seche. La pierre est glissante, l’eau coule sur vos mains et dans votre dos, et le bruit fait que vous recevez les instructions par signes de la main sur le dernier tronçon. C’est veritablement excitant et c’est aussi entierement controle : vous etes sur une corde fixe avec une securite, et l’instructeur peut vous arreter a tout moment depuis le sommet.

Deux cascades de hauteurs differentes sont utilisees pour que la premiere serve de mise en train et la seconde offre la descente la plus longue. Entre les deux, il y a un court transfert et une marche d’approche, en partie sur un terrain humide et irregulier a travers des plantations de the et la foret.

Une chose a preciser concerne la localisation. Ella se trouve dans les collines a environ deux cents kilometres de Colombo, cinq a six heures par la route ou un long trajet sur le train Kandy-Ella. It was great and i really enjoy the activity, but it was to short for me. Going down out of the waterfall tooks just 10 minutes and i couldn’t go the second time. The driver was professional and very helpful.
