Kandy Sightseeing

Meet your private guide and driver after landing, then travel through lush countryside to Kandy, Sri Lanka's cultural capital. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and enjoy an evening cultural dance performance before settling into your hotel.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya via Tea Country

Drive south through rolling hills into Sri Lanka's tea country. Stop at a working tea estate and factory for a guided tour and tasting session, then continue to Nuwara Eliya, the cool colonial-era hill town known as "Little England," passing waterfalls and panoramic viewpoints along the way.

Scenic Train to Ella

This morning, explore Nuwara Eliya before boarding one of the world's most scenic train rides toward Ella. Wind through tea plantations, misty mountains, and pass over the iconic Nine Arch Bridge. Arrive in Ella in the afternoon with time to relax or explore the small town at your own pace.

Ella Exploration & Departure

Enjoy a final morning in Ella, with time to visit a viewpoint like Little Adam's Peak or Nine Arch Bridge at leisure. In the afternoon, your driver transfers you back to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight, ending your private hill country journey.

Reserved seats open 30 days ahead and sell out within hours from December to March. Unreserved 2nd/3rd class is sold on the day and always available — you will stand, which is where the open doorways and the famous photographs are. Sit on the right-hand side going south. Sigiriya and Dambulla (2.5 hrs each way) is the best of them. Kitulgala rafting is 2 hrs, the Knuckles range and Pekoe Trail stages are day hikes from here. Ella, Galle and Yala are *too far* — 4-6 hours each way. See day trips from Kandy.
