Kandy change apres la nuit tombee. Le lac reflete le temple eclaire et le Queen's Hotel, les rues autour du marche continuent de fonctionner sous des neons, et la chaleur baisse enfin assez pour que les gens sortent et restent dehors. C'est une ville bien meilleure a photographier la nuit que le jour, et bien plus difficile.

C'est une promenade de deux heures avec un photographe qui travaille ici. Le cote technique est l'essentiel: le travail de rue nocturne consiste a gerer la faible lumiere, la temperature de couleur mixte et le mouvement tous en meme temps, et la difference entre un cadre utilisable et un cadre flou est generalement une decision sur la vitesse d'obturation prise en une seconde. Cela s'apprend dans la rue, sur votre propre appareil, plutot qu'explique de maniere abstraite.

L'itineraire couvre la facade coloniale du Queen's Hotel, qui est le batiment le plus photographie de Kandy et celui que la plupart des gens ratent; le bord du lac, ou se trouvent les reflets; le marche nocturne, qui est la section la plus difficile et la plus gratifiante; et les rues autour du Temple de la Dent.

Reserved seats open 30 days ahead and sell out within hours from December to March. Unreserved 2nd/3rd class is sold on the day and always available — you will stand, which is where the open doorways and the famous photographs are. Sit on the right-hand side going south.
