A fascinating and well-organised day with a very well-informed guide. My only honest caveat is the crowds at the evening Aarti — it is genuinely packed and you need to hold your spot. The early start is also real, so go to bed early the night before. That said, the sunrise on the river more than made up for the lost sleep.

Beautiful, intense day and a lovely guide who clearly loves his city. Two small things: April was extremely hot by midday, so I'd suggest the car option if you visit in spring, and the walk down the ghat steps was slippery near the water. Neither ruined anything.
