Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Nusa Penida. It is run by Lembongan Day Trip, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Nusa Penida is the largest of the three islands off Bali's south-east coast, about 200 square kilometres of limestone with cliffs on the south and west and a few villages on the north coast where the boats land. It has no traffic to speak of but its roads are narrow and slow, which is why a day trip covers either the west side (Kelingking, Broken Beach, Angel's Billabong) or the east (Diamond Beach, Atuh, Tree House), not both. Fast boats from Sanur take thirty to forty-five minutes, run from around 7:00, and are cancelled or delayed in a big swell. Bring cash: card machines are rare and the ATMs are unreliable.
The price covers Balinese Cultural Explanation & Storytelling, Traditional Balinese Attire, All Canang Sari Materials, Balinese Instructor and Handmade Canang Sari to Take Home. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Lembongan Day Trip sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Lembongan Day Trip before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

It was an excellent experience, the family was very welcoming. We were helped into traditional costume for temple Everything was explained beautifully and also a handout in english was given for each component of the Canang Sari meanings. They are a new family business so please support them. We were given water and a yummy homemade snack. and a gift to take home as well as our offerings we made.Very good value for the price
Gek was a wonderful teacher and I learned so much about the traditions of making those beautiful little sari offerings. She was patient, helping me when I messed up, full of information, and clearly deeply committed to sharing her love of this Hindu practice. I highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn about the Bali culture.
A wonderful 10/10 Balinese experience 🌺 The GPS directions made it easy to find and the family were incredibly warm and welcoming. We made four different traditional offerings while learning about their meaning and Balinese culture, all with plenty of laughs and great care from our hosts. The sarongs, traditional snacks and drinks made it even more special. A beautiful, authentic experience we would absolutely recommend. ❤️
This was by far the best activity we did in Bali! 🌺 The Canang Sari workshop was such a beautiful and special experience. Our host was incredibly kind, warm and genuinely interested in us. She created such a lovely and welcoming atmosphere, and you could really feel how much she enjoyed sharing her culture with us. We learned so much about the meaning behind the offerings and how to make them ourselves. We were also given traditional clothes to wear and enjoyed some delicious snacks during the workshop, which made the experience feel even more authentic. It was so much more than just a worksho
I absolutely loved it. The most beautiful little family who were so friendly, relaxed, fun( patient😊) and happy to share their precious cultural knowledge in their peaceful home. An inquiring mind, I asked lots of questions. Do yourself a favour and take some time away from the typical touristy stuff and learn a bit more about why they do what they do and the next time you step over a canang sari, you might do it with a new respect and understanding. Thankyou lovely family… Sampai jumpa Lagi Sharon
Ever since we came to Bali we had been curious about the small daily offerings placed outside houses and businesses. This workshop taught us about the Balinese religion and traditions. It is run by a local family and set up in a relaxed & fun way where we made our own Cenang Sari box with flowers. We also got to wear traditional clothes and visit the temple. Highly recommended!
Such a lovely morning, we were met with delicious fruit and was such peaceful and happy atmosphere. I loved creating the canang sari and learning about the Balinese culture and traditions :)
Really lovely experience and learned so much. The host, her husband, grandpa and beautiful baby all got involved. You could see how important giving me a great experience was to them and I really appreciate that. Do it if you can! Eleven out of ten!
Absolutely amazing! We loved everything the photos and videos came out amazing and we genuinely learnt so much that I can now relay to other friends :)
We had such a beautiful experience making Canang Sari with this wonderful family. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome and treated us with such kindness and warmth. It was so much more than just a workshop—we learned about Balinese culture and traditions in a very authentic and heartfelt way. You can really feel the love and passion they put into sharing their culture. This is an experience we will always remember, and we will definitely do it again when we come back to Bali. Thank you for making our day so special. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the
it was an amazing way to connect with the balinese culture. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. They made me feel very special on my birthday
Fery and Gek In both welcomed us into their home so graciously. They walked us through all the different types of offerings and then guided us in making our own Cagang Sari. We learned how and when to offer them at the temple in their home. I feel like we both have a much better understanding of the Balinese culture and religuous symbolism. It was a pleasure spending the morning with such wonderful hosts and their family!
