This is a 5.5-hour experience in Nusa Penida, built around Nusa Penida and Ferry. It is run by Lembongan Water Sport, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Snorkelling off Nusa Penida is about the reef manta rays at Manta Point on the island's south coast, where they are present year-round, feeding and being cleaned in the swell at the base of the cliffs. Boats then move to calmer spots such as Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay and the wall at Buyuk for coral and fish. Between July and October, Crystal Bay is also the place divers come for the oceanic sunfish, mola mola, which rise from deep water in the cooler months. Manta Point is exposed to southern swell and boats skip it when the sea is up, so a day here is always weather-dependent. The crossing from Sanur is thirty to forty-five minutes.

This was amazing. We had lovely guides who were always looking out for our safety and never pushing people to go too far out of their comfort zone. They provided life jackets for people who weren’t very strong swimmers and always swam with a rubber ring incase you got tired when swimming around. They always swam with at least 1/2 guides at the front and another at the back and always checked to make sure they knew where people were. We were lucky enough to swim with the beautiful manta rays which they would point out to us at any point so everyone had an opportunity to see them. Including any
Overall great fun. Some confusion with drop off. Think the local taxis have a monopoly so cannot be dropped off outside the port so our taxi dropped us off at their office and then provided a minibus to the port. Good communication with the team, thank you
Wayan and Adik are exactly the people you want taking you on a snorkeling adventure! They are focused on safety and giving everyone an opportunity to see and experience everything they can. When we were in the water, they kept a close eye on everybody and were very clear in their instructions! They made sure we had water and plenty of opportunities for the restroom and snacks. I would certainly go with them again!

The journey to the first snorkel location was in large swells at speed in a small boat, although the scenery was stunning. Several other customers were seasick and it didn't feel safe or comfortable. It was a total of around an hour of constant battering as the boat crested waves and dropped sharply to the water. The first location also had rough seas, but once we turned around and headed to the second and third locations, things smoothed out. The snorkeling in the second half was excellent and mostly made up for the less than enjoyable first half. The better decision would have been to scrap
