This is a 3-hour experience in Nusa Penida, built around Ferry, Manta Point and Gamat Bay. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Snorkelling off Nusa Penida is about the reef manta rays at Manta Point on the island's south coast, where they are present year-round, feeding and being cleaned in the swell at the base of the cliffs. Boats then move to calmer spots such as Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay and the wall at Buyuk for coral and fish. Between July and October, Crystal Bay is also the place divers come for the oceanic sunfish, mola mola, which rise from deep water in the cooler months. Manta Point is exposed to southern swell and boats skip it when the sea is up, so a day here is always weather-dependent. The crossing from Sanur is thirty to forty-five minutes.

was a tour with great expectation but poor execution. Fast boat to island was great. The long boat we went on to manta bay great also. The length of time in the water was way too quick. No effort was made to circle the area in case manta were somewhere else. We arrived told to jump in in less than 5min saw nothing,told to get out and moved to next spot. Was disappointed with this. Probably the best value for money we’ve gotten on a tour. Was an amazing experience seeing the manta rays. It’s set up pretty strange as it’s basically multiple tours put together. We had a separate driver and guide for each part. Our first driver Naith was great and the one on Nusa Penida Wirata was also really good. Very scary driving due to the road conditions, but he got us everywhere safely and took loads of great photos of us. Great tour of the south/west of Penida. The snorkelling and views were amazing. Sindhu was a great guide for the hotel transport, he was funny and arrived early to pick us up. The boat crew was great also and took lots of photos.
Our guide Bobby was incredible! He is a natural photographer and went out of his way to take some incredibly memorable videos of us aswell! Other tour groups were jealous and even asked if he could take theirs for them 😂 The snorkelling team were also amazing! We saw 4 manta rays first thing and so many beautiful fish!! Both were extremely professional, kind, and always smiling, which made the whole day even more enjoyable. We went diving and explored the island of Nusa Penida, and everything was perfectly organized. The team made us feel safe, relaxed, and well taken care of at all times.
