Three Different Places, Very Similar Names
This is the single most common Nagoya planning mistake, and it costs people a day.
Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology is in Nagoya city itself, in the original Toyoda brick weaving mill. It covers how a loom company became a car company.
Toyota Kaikan Museum is at the company's head office in Toyota City, about an hour away. It shows current and near-future models, and it is the departure point for the factory tour.
Toyota Automobile Museum is in Nagakute, near Ghibli Park, and is a general history of the automobile worldwide — Fords, Mercedes, Citroëns — not a Toyota showroom.
They are three separate sites with three separate purposes. Booking a hotel near one because you meant another is an easy and annoying error.
