Full description

This is a 10-hour experience in Nara, built around Nara Park, Arashiyama and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. It is run by Japan Vision Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari, the deity of rice and business, and its thousand-plus vermilion torii gates, each donated by a company or family, run in tunnels up the 233-metre Mount Inari behind the main hall. The full loop to the summit is about four kilometres and two hours; most visitors turn back at the Yotsutsuji viewpoint halfway. It is open 24 hours and free, which makes it the one big Kyoto sight you can do at dawn or after dark, when the gates are empty and lit. By nine in the morning the lower tunnels are a slow queue. The fox statues carry keys to the rice granary in their mouths.

The price covers bilingual guide, Comfortable vehicle with A/C, Round-trip transfers to and from the meet up location and All taxes. It does not cover Meals and beverages and Other personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Japan Vision Tour sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Japan Vision Tour before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We really enjoyed the tour. Oscar shared great information on the journey too. The option to pickup in Osaka and drop off in Kyoto was a real winner for us. It gave us a great day out while providing us a transfer all in one booking. When booking a group tour you have to accept it’s a group which may come with certain elements that can be frustrating, such as people arriving late back to the bus, but for the price that’s what you need to accept. Most of the tour will be your own time, allowing you to explore or get Goshiun if you wish. Oscar created a WhatsApp group chat to share all the infor

our guide Valerie was absolutely amazing! the tour was great but in my opinion, without Valerie, it wouldnt be as much fun and interesting. She is very well organised, knowledgeable and quite interesting and has a sense of humour as well. Definitely recommend it.

Valerie was an absolutely fantastic guide, and I was genuinely impressed by how smoothly she managed a group of around 45 people. Despite the size of the group, at no point did the tour feel crowded, stressful, or difficult to follow. Everything was extremely well organized. All location links and meeting points were shared with the group in advance, which made it very easy to explore the attractions independently while always knowing exactly where and when to return. This gave us a great sense of freedom, while still feeling completely safe and well coordinated throughout the day. Valerie is

Jack was awesome, kind and helpful. He really made the trip enjoyable for everyone. The timings were great and we got just enough but not too much time at each site and were able to self guide with some pointers from Jack. It was very relaxed and casual with no pressure to eat at certain places or to pay for extra experiences. Thank you for a wonderful day!
