Full description

Priced for two people together, this is Minori's premium kimono plan for one man and one woman — the listed rate covers the pair, not each person, so a couple books once. It is a rental and dressing service rather than a tour: staff dress you, and the rest of the day is yours to spend however you like. Each of you chooses from the premium lineup and receives a complete set — kimono, half-width obi, tabi socks, zori sandals, a bag and hair ornaments — with the women's simple hair set included. The shop charges nothing extra for coordination, and there is no pressure to trade up to a higher plan once you are inside.

Minori sits on the ground floor at 43-1 Takama-cho, roughly thirty seconds from Exit 7S of Kintetsu Nara Station and thirteen minutes on foot from JR Nara. That location is the practical argument for the plan: once dressed, you are ten minutes' walk from Nara Park, where over a thousand wild sika deer roam as protected Shinto messengers and a National Natural Treasure. Between shop and park lie Naramachi's narrow Edo-period merchant lanes of machiya townhouses and small cafes, where most couples end up taking their own photographs. Kofukuji, Gangoji, Todaiji and Kasuga Taisha — the last founded in 768 and hung with thousands of donated lanterns — are all within the same walk.

Two caveats before booking. Photography is not part of any rental plan; Minori sells photo sessions as separate products, so bring your own camera or book one of those instead. And the operator publishes no return or rental end time, so agree that directly with the shop when you reserve. Prices on the operator's page are quoted before Japanese consumption tax. In the summer months the premium line is issued as yukata, the unlined cotton version, rather than a lined kimono.
