FAQs About Chitwan Tours

Will I actually see rhinos and tigers in Chitwan?

Greater one-horned rhino sightings are very common — Chitwan has one of the largest populations in the world, and most multi-activity safaris encounter them. Tigers are present but elusive; sightings are a lucky bonus rather than a guarantee. You'll also reliably see deer, monkeys, crocodiles, and a huge variety of birds with a good naturalist guide.

Is elephant riding part of the safari?

Responsible operators have moved away from elephant-back safaris toward ethical alternatives — jeep safaris, canoe trips, guided jungle walks and visits to the elephant breeding centre. We focus on wildlife-watching that respects animal welfare; ask for the jeep and canoe-based itineraries.

How do I get to Chitwan?

Chitwan (Sauraha) is about 5–6 hours by road from Kathmandu or Pokhara, or a short domestic flight to Bharatpur followed by a 30-minute drive. Most visitors stay 2 nights to fit in a full range of safari activities. Guided packages can include transport and park permits.
