Tour Itinerary
The schedule below is a suggested plan and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Drive to Ramechhap Airport
Meet at the main entrance of Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu at 12:30 AM. Travel by shared transfer to Ramechhap Airport, about a 4-hour drive. We aim to arrive around 5:00–5:30 AM for the early morning flight to Lukla.
Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding
Take an early morning flight from Ramechhap to Lukla. Meet your local Sherpa guide on arrival and have breakfast before starting the trek. Walk along the Dudh Koshi River, through Sherpa villages and across suspension bridges. Continue at a comfortable pace to Phakding, where you will stay overnight. Walking time is about 3–4 hours.
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast, begin the trek towards Namche Bazaar. Follow the Dudh Koshi River, cross several suspension bridges including the Hillary Suspension Bridge, and enter Sagarmatha National Park. The trail gradually becomes steeper as you climb through pine and rhododendron forests toward Namche, the main Sherpa town in the Everest region. Walking time is about 5–6 hours.
Hike to Everest View Hotel
Take a gradual acclimatization hike from Namche towards the Everest View Hotel. Enjoy your first clear views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and the surrounding Himalayan peaks, weather permitting. Depending on conditions and the group's pace, the hike can also include Khumjung village. Return to Namche for the night. Walking time is about 2–4 hours.
Return to Namche and Explore
Descend back to Namche Bazaar after the Everest View hike. The afternoon is free to rest or explore the town, visit local shops and cafes, or enjoy the mountain views from nearby viewpoints. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Leave Namche and follow the ridge trail with views of Ama Dablam and other Himalayan peaks. Descend towards the Dudh Koshi River before climbing again through the forest to Tengboche. Visit Tengboche Monastery and enjoy the mountain surroundings before your overnight stay. Walking time is about 5–6 hours.
Tengboche to Dingboche
Continue towards Dingboche through alpine landscapes and mountain villages. Walk through the forest, cross the Imja River and gradually enter the upper Khumbu Valley. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more open and rugged, with views of Ama Dablam and surrounding peaks. Overnight in Dingboche. Walking time is about 5–6 hours.
Hike to Nangkartsang Viewpoint
Spend another day acclimatizing in Dingboche. If conditions and fitness allow, take an optional hike towards Nangkartsang viewpoint for wider views of Island Peak, Makalu and the Lhotse area. The rest of the day is for resting and allowing your body to adjust to the altitude. Walking time is about 3–4 hours.
Dingboche to Lobuche
Leave Dingboche and continue through the high alpine landscape towards Lobuche. The trail gradually climbs towards the Thukla Pass, where memorial stones and cairns honor climbers and Sherpas who lost their lives on Everest and other Himalayan peaks. Continue to Lobuche for an overnight stay. Walking time is about 5–6 hours.
Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp
Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep and continue towards Everest Base Camp. Follow the rocky moraine trail with views of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding peaks. Reach Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m, take time to explore the area and enjoy the achievement before returning to Gorakshep for the night. Walking time is about 7–8 hours.
Kala Patthar Sunrise Hike
Start early before sunrise for the hike to Kala Patthar at 5,545 m. From the viewpoint, enjoy some of the best close-up views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori and the surrounding peaks, weather permitting. Descend to Gorakshep for breakfast before continuing down to Pheriche. Walking time is about 6–7 hours.
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Leave Pheriche and retrace the trail through Pangboche and Tengboche. Continue downhill through the forests and Sherpa villages before following the Dudh Koshi valley back towards Namche Bazaar. Enjoy a more relaxed pace as you descend to lower elevations. Overnight in Namche. Walking time is about 6–7 hours.
Namche Bazaar to Lukla
After breakfast, begin the final trekking day towards Lukla. Descend through the forests and Sherpa villages, crossing suspension bridges and following the Dudh Koshi River. The trail includes some uphill sections but is generally easier as you lose altitude. Arrive in Lukla and spend your final night in the Everest region. Walking time is about 6–7 hours.
