A 7-day trip out of Kathmandu taking in Kathmandu to Pokhara, Pokhara to Kagbeni, Kagbeni to Lo Manthang and Explore Lo Manthang. There are 7 stops in all.

The running order is Kathmandu to Pokhara, then Pokhara to Kagbeni, then Kagbeni to Lo Manthang, then Explore Lo Manthang, then Lo Manthang to Lete, and on from there.

The price covers private 4WD jeep transportation for the entire tour, Experienced English-speaking Guide and Driver, Fuel, road tolls, and vehicle expenses and 6 nights accommodation in hotels/guesthouses on a twin-sharing basis. It does not cover lunch and Dinner throughout the tour, Upper Mustang special area permit - 50$ per day for 3 days and Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) - 25$ (single pay), so budget for those separately.

Kathmandu to Pokhara

Begin your adventure with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Follow the winding Prithvi Highway alongside rivers, green hills, terraced fields, and traditional villages. Arrive in Pokhara and check into your hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure around Lakeside.

Pokhara to Kagbeni

After breakfast, drive towards Kagbeni through the spectacular Kali Gandaki Valley. Pass through Tatopani, Ghasa, Marpha, and Jomsom, enjoying views of waterfalls, rugged cliffs, traditional villages, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Continue to Kagbeni, the historic gateway to Upper Mustang, and spend the night there.

Kagbeni to Lo Manthang

Enter the restricted Upper Mustang region and drive towards Lo Manthang. Travel through dramatic barren landscapes, deep valleys, colorful rock formations, and remote mountain settlements. Along the way, experience the distinctive Tibetan-influenced culture and architecture of Mustang before reaching the ancient walled city of Lo Manthang.

Explore Lo Manthang

Spend the day exploring the historic town of Lo Manthang and its surroundings. Visit ancient monasteries, traditional mud-brick houses, narrow streets, and important cultural sites. Take time to experience the unique Tibetan-influenced lifestyle and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape.

Lo Manthang to Lete

Begin your return journey from Lo Manthang to Lete by jeep. Retrace the scenic route through the remote landscapes of Upper Mustang and descend through the Kali Gandaki Valley. Enjoy changing scenery as the dry, high-altitude terrain gradually gives way to greener mountain landscapes. Overnight in Lete.

Lete to Pokhara

Continue the drive from Lete to Pokhara through the Kali Gandaki Valley. Pass through beautiful mountain villages, waterfalls, forests, and rivers while enjoying views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Arrive in Pokhara and spend the evening relaxing at Lakeside.

Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway. Enjoy the final views of Nepal’s hills, rivers, villages, and countryside before arriving in Kathmandu, marking the end of your Upper Mustang Jeep adventure.
