Tour Itinerary
The schedule below is a suggested plan and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Scenic Flight to Lukla & Trek to Phakding
Take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing, meet your trekking crew and begin walking through the Dudh Koshi Valley. The trail passes through traditional Sherpa settlements, green hills, pine forests, and riverside landscapes before reaching Phakding. Enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings and spend the night at a local teahouse.
Follow the Dudh Koshi River to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast, continue trekking north along the Dudh Koshi River toward Namche Bazaar. Cross several suspension bridges and pass through small Sherpa villages before entering Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. The trail gradually becomes steeper as you approach Namche. After crossing the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, make the final uphill climb to Namche Bazaar at 3,440 meters, the main trading hub of the Khumbu region.
Acclimatize & Hike to Everest Viewpoint
Spend the day in Namche Bazaar to allow your body to adjust to the increasing altitude. Take a short hike toward the Everest View Hotel for spectacular views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, and Kongde. You can also explore Namche's colorful market, cafés, shops, and Sherpa cultural attractions. The acclimatization hike helps prepare you for the higher elevations ahead while keeping the day active.
Trek Through Forests to Tengboche Monastery
Leave Namche and follow a scenic trail along the hillside with magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Nuptse. The route descends toward the Dudh Koshi River before climbing through beautiful pine, fir, and rhododendron forests toward Tengboche. At approximately 3,867 meters, Tengboche is home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. Explore the monastery and enjoy one of the most impressive mountain panoramas in the Khumbu.
Reach Ama Dablam Base Camp at 4,600m
Today is the main highlight of the trek. From Tengboche, continue toward Pangboche and follow the trail toward the spectacular Ama Dablam Base Camp. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more rugged and alpine, with Ama Dablam dominating the surroundings. Reach approximately 4,600 meters and enjoy close views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After exploring the base camp, descend to Pangboche for an overnight stay.
Descend Through Pangboche to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast, begin the return journey through the beautiful Khumbu landscape. Follow the trail from Pangboche toward Tengboche and continue through forests and mountain villages. Enjoy changing views of Ama Dablam and other Himalayan peaks as you gradually descend. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River, continue toward Namche Bazaar. Spend the evening relaxing in the lively Sherpa town and enjoy your final night in the high Khumbu region.
Trek Back to Lukla Through the Khumbu
After breakfast, begin the long descent from Namche toward Lukla. Follow the familiar trail through Sagarmatha National Park, passing suspension bridges, forests, villages, and riverside paths. Continue through Monjo and Phakding before gradually climbing toward Lukla. Once in Lukla, celebrate the completion of your Ama Dablam Base Camp adventure with your trekking team and enjoy your final night in the Everest region.
Scenic Flight from Lukla Back to Kathmandu
After breakfast, head to Lukla Airport for your scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Enjoy one final aerial view of the Himalayan landscape as the aircraft leaves the Khumbu region.
