The schedule below is a suggested plan and can be adjusted to suit your preferences.

Drive to Dhulikhel (Max altitude: 1,550 meters)

Your day begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Kathmandu at your preferred time. Leaving the city behind, you will embark on a scenic 30-kilometer drive along the Araniko Highway toward the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley. Passing through historic Bhaktapur, dense urban streets quickly give way to terraced fields and rolling green hills. Arriving in the ancient hill town of Dhulikhel, your guide will usher you onto the serene trail toward Namobuddha.

Hike to NamoBuddha Monastery (Max altitude: 1,750 meters)

Leaving Dhulikhel behind, the trail climbs up stone steps past pine forests and opens to country paths winding through Tamang villages and terraced farmlands. Sweeping views of the Himalayas frame the horizon as you walk. After 3 to 4 hours, colorful prayer flags welcome you to sacred Namobuddha at 1,750 meters. Here, where a prince famously offered his body to feed a starving tigress, you will explore the serene Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery and enjoy a restful lunch.

Guest House Check-In & Overnight Stay (Optional)

For travelers staying overnight, your guide and driver will help you settle into the monastery guest house before bidding you farewell. You are welcome to spend the evening soaking in the tranquil surroundings, watching the golden sunset fade over the hills, and embracing the quiet atmosphere of the sanctuary as night falls.

Drive back to Kathmandu (Max altitude: 1,350 meters)
