A half-day trip out of Kandy taking in Tuk tuk, Kandy, Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya. There are 10 stops in all.
The running order is Tuk tuk (20 min), then Kandy, then Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (20 min), then Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya (20 min), then Asgiri Maha Vihara pirivena (20 min), and on from there.

Reserved seats open 30 days ahead and sell out within hours from December to March. Unreserved 2nd/3rd class is sold on the day and always available — you will stand, which is where the open doorways and the famous photographs are. Sit on the right-hand side going south.
