A 8-day trip out of Kandy taking in Drive to Anuradhapura and visit temple, Visit Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa ruins and Pidurangala temple. There are 17 stops in all.

The running order is Drive to Anuradhapura and visit temple, then Visit Sigiriya, then Polonnaruwa ruins, then Pidurangala temple, then Visit Dambulla templ, and on from there.

The price covers pick up and drop off from the hotel located on the west coast, 7 Nights accommodation in 3-4 star hotels, private AC rooms with attached bathrooms, Entire ground transportation (sightseeing tours and transfers) in an AC vehicle and Guided Sigiriya rock tour. Those are the only windows when the upper relic chamber opens and the hevisi drummers play; outside them you are visiting a beautiful building rather than a ceremony. Reserved seats open 30 days ahead and sell out within hours from December to March. Unreserved 2nd/3rd class is sold on the day and always available — you will stand, which is where the open doorways and the famous photographs are. Sit on the right-hand side going south. Sigiriya and Dambulla (2.5 hrs each way) is the best of them. Kitulgala rafting is 2 hrs, the Knuckles range and Pekoe Trail stages are day hikes from here. Ella, Galle and Yala are *too far* — 4-6 hours each way. See day trips from Kandy.
