Description complète

A delightful class run by a fun and informative gentleman. We were running late but he still allowed us to make our treats and his lesson in Matcha making and drinking was delightfully playful. Absolutely worth your time and money.

Very organized location once you get to the third floor, great host who is funny, smart and great in English despite being concerned about our all-English class.

What a brilliant experience! Masa was a fantastic guide, walking us through every step of the sweet making and matcha ceremony. I was so pleased with my final creations, and value for money is excellent. I would recommend this experience. Thank you Masa!

The instructor was very good. He went step by step to guide us in the sweet making and tea ceremony. The sweets were good and it was a great experience.

the sweets making was a lot of fun! our instructor did a great job walking us through it while handling both Japanese and English translation simultaneously - it was a great way to learn a bit more about the culture of japan in an immersive way. I do think I would enjoyed having a longer tea ceremony - but enjoyed making matcha either way. Definitely come check it out and if your looking for a traditional tea ceremony find another one on top of this :)

It was fun and educating, the lady who did the workshop (sorry, I don´t remember her name) was handling very well 30+ people, speaking in Japanese and English. We had the best seats so we did not miss a thing.

It was a very nice activity to do in Osaka! The workshop was mostly in Japanese but the chef did also give some English instructions. The tea ceremony was quite short but I really liked learning how to make 2 desserts. I would definitely recommend this to others!

Really enjoyed the sweet making and Tea ceremony. Our host Mika really took the time to explain the history and the was very patient with the process. The tea ceremony was our first, but it was very casual. Would definitely recommend it for a unique experience!

It was such a cool experience, excellent guide and good English. And I don’t like matcha 😁

The price does not cover sweets take-out box: 100 jpy and experience completion certificate: 300 jpy. Everything it does cover is listed in full on this page, so if something is not on that list, budget for it separately.
Not in the private lanes of Gion, where Kyoto has banned photography, and not close up anywhere: a maiko on the street is on her way to work. Your guide will say where a photograph is acceptable. Tea ceremony and kimono sessions include photographs as part of the session.

Yes — Nara is about 30-45 minutes by Kintetsu train for the deer park and Todai-ji, and Kyoto is roughly 29 minutes by JR Special Rapid. Both are easy half-day or full-day trips. See our Osaka to Nara guide and Osaka to Kyoto guide.
Takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (savory pancake) are Osaka's signature street foods, best sampled around Dotonbori and Kuromon Market. See our Osaka food guide.
Yes — it's the city's neon-lit entertainment and food district, and while it's undeniably touristy, the energy, canal-side glow, and street food density make it genuinely worth an evening. See the Dotonbori guide.
Shinsekai is Osaka's retro, slightly gritty downtown district built around the Tsutenkaku Tower, known for kushikatsu (fried skewers). It's generally safe for tourists, especially in the daytime and early evening. See the Shinsekai guide.
