The Glico Man sign is a 20-meter neon billboard depicting a runner crossing a finish line, put up by confectionery company Ezaki Glico near Ebisu Bridge. The current version is the first LED iteration, built from roughly 150,000 LED lights. The best photo spot is Ebisu Bridge itself, or the promenade beneath it looking up.
Evening is when Dotonbori earns its reputation — the neon signage comes alive after dark. October through April is the most comfortable season to walk it at length, thanks to cooler, drier weather.
