Miyama est la raison de faire cette journee. C'est un village dans les montagnes du nord de la prefecture de Kyoto ou environ quarante fermes kayabuki, couvertes de roseaux, toits d'un metre d'epaisseur et inclines fortement contre la neige, se tiennent encore ensemble en un seul lieu. La plupart des villages de chaume du Japon ont disparu ou sont preserves comme musees a ciel ouvert ; Miyama est habite, les toits sont refaits par rotation par des gens qui savent encore le faire, et l'effet en toute saison est celui d'un paysage qui a cesse de changer.

Katsuo-ji est plus etrange et plus joyeux. C'est un temple associe a la victoire et la bonne fortune, et les pelerins y laissent des poupees daruma depuis si longtemps que les figures rondes et rouges couvrent desormais chaque rebord, mur, marche et racine d'arbre du site, des dizaines de milliers d'entre elles, fixant du regard. Vous en achetez une, faites un souhait, peignez un œil, et peignez le second quand le souhait se realise.

Arashiyama cloture la journee : la foret de bambous et le sanctuaire Nonomiya, le petit sanctuaire parmi les bambous ou les princesses imperiales se purifiaient jadis avant de servir a Ise.

Le car gere les distances, ce qui est l'argument pratique. Miyama en particulier est veritablement difficile a atteindre en transports publics et occupe l'essentiel d'une journee si vous essayez.

Les frais d'entree aux attractions et les repas ne sont pas inclus. Les departs se font depuis la sortie 2 de la station Nipponbashi a Osaka, et vous pouvez choisir d'etre depose a Kyoto a la fin plutot que de revenir, utile si vous poursuivez votre voyage.
