Detailed Itinerary

Morning Departure from Bangalore to Agra via Delhi

Your journey begins early in the morning with a pickup at 6:00 AM from your hotel in Bangalore’s bustling city center. You'll head to Kempegowda International Airport to catch your flight to Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Upon landing, a comfortable private car will be waiting to take you on a scenic 3.5-hour drive to Agra via the Yamuna Expressway. This modern highway offers smooth travel and picturesque views of the Indian countryside—golden fields, quaint villages, and glimpses of rural life unfold as you speed toward one of the country’s most iconic destinations.

You’ll arrive in Agra by early afternoon, ready to settle into your hotel. Take a moment to refresh before heading out for lunch at your hotel or a nearby restaurant, where you’ll savor authentic Mughlai cuisine—rich, aromatic dishes that reflect the culinary heritage of the Mughal era.

Afternoon Check-In and Relaxation

After lunch, check into your hotel and relax in the comfort of your room. Agra’s warm climate means lightweight, breathable clothing is best—cotton or linen will keep you comfortable as you explore the city. Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, especially for your outdoor adventures.

The afternoon is yours to unwind or take a gentle stroll through the hotel gardens, preparing for an unforgettable evening.

Evening Visit to Mehtab Bagh for the Taj Mahal Sunset

As the sun begins to set, you’ll visit Mehtab Bagh, a serene garden complex located directly across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal. This spot offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Taj Mahal’s marble façade glowing in the golden light. The garden itself is a tranquil oasis, historically designed as a charbagh (four-part garden) during the Mughal period.

Here, you’ll watch the Taj Mahal bathed in sunset hues, a magical experience that feels both intimate and timeless. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the monument’s construction, the love story behind it, and the symbolism woven into every detail of its design. After this enchanting visit, you’ll return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day Two Sunrise Tour of the Taj Mahal

Rise early to witness the Taj Mahal at sunrise, when the monument is bathed in soft, ethereal light. This is the perfect time to experience its beauty before the crowds arrive. Your professional guide will lead you through the complex, pointing out architectural marvels such as the intricate pietra dura inlay work, the symmetrical gardens, and the reflecting pools that mirror the monument’s stunning silhouette.

This early morning visit is not just about photography—it’s a moment to connect with the deep historical and emotional significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a symbol of eternal love.

Mid-Morning Exploration of Agra Fort and Optional Baby Taj Visit

Next, you’ll explore Agra Fort, a formidable red sandstone fortress that once served as the main residence of the Mughal emperors. Inside its massive walls lies a labyrinth of palaces, mosques, and audience halls, each echoing tales of royal intrigue and grandeur. Your guide will bring these stories to life, offering insights into Mughal history, architecture, and culture.

If time permits, you can opt for a visit to Itmad-ud-Daulah, often called the “Baby Taj.” This exquisite mausoleum predates the Taj Mahal and showcases delicate marble inlay work that influenced later Mughal architecture.

Flying up from Bangalore and being met at Delhi by a private car took all the stress out of it. The drive to Agra was smooth and our guide was brilliant, full of stories about the Mughals. Seeing the Taj at sunrise the next morning after a proper night's sleep was worth every rupee. The shoe covers and golf cart were nice touches I hadn't expected.

Did this as a weekend escape from Bangalore and it delivered. Four-star hotel was comfortable, breakfast was solid, and having sunrise at the Taj plus the Mehtab Bagh sunset view across the river in the same trip was the highlight. Agra Fort surprised me with how much there was to see. Guide knew all the best photo angles.

Un voyage parfaitement organisé. Everything from the Bangalore flight to the transfers and the Baby Taj visit was handled for us. The sunset at Mehtab Bagh with the Taj glowing across the Yamuna is something I will never forget. Our driver was careful and the guide spoke excellent English. Highly recommend the overnight version over the rushed day trip.

A really well-run tour and genuinely all-inclusive as promised. My only honest note is the sunrise start is very early and I was tired after the previous day's flight and drive from Delhi. That said, seeing the Taj almost empty at dawn made the early alarm worthwhile. The golf cart to the gate was a welcome surprise for my knees.

We travelled in January and the weather was ideal for walking around Agra Fort and the Taj complex. The guide was punctual, knowledgeable and never pushy. Loved that all the little fees like parking and tolls were already covered so there was nothing to argue about. The hotel in Agra was clean and well located. Faultless organisation from Bangalore and back.

As someone based in Asia I've seen a lot of tours, and this one was smooth from start to finish. The private car between Delhi and Agra meant we set our own pace, and the guide adjusted the sunrise timing perfectly. The Baby Taj was a lovely quieter stop away from the crowds. Great value for a proper two-day experience with flights.

Fantastic monuments and a very capable guide, but I'll be honest that May in Agra is brutally hot, so the midday hours were tough going. The sunrise Taj visit beat the heat and was spectacular. Everything was arranged well and the transfers were on time. Just go in cooler months if you can, and drink plenty of water.

This trip made a bucket-list dream easy. We flew out of Bangalore, were looked after the entire time, and never once had to think about logistics. Watching the marble of the Taj change colour at sunrise was magical, and the overnight stay meant we weren't shattered. The guide handled the sellers near the gate for us so kindly. Money well spent.

Frequently Asked Questions

The $950 per-person price is genuinely all-inclusive: round-trip flights between Bangalore and Delhi, private transfers from Delhi airport to Agra and back, a 1-night 4-star hotel stay in Agra with breakfast, a Govt.-approved guide, and all the small extras like parking fees, toll taxes, shoe covers for the Taj, and the golf cart to the monument gate. You essentially just book and turn up at Kempegowda Airport.
This single overnight package covers your guided sightseeing at all three sites, and the tour handles the on-ground logistics like the golf cart and shoe covers at the Taj. We recommend confirming monument entry-ticket inclusion with us at the time of booking, as Archaeological Survey of India ticket rules for foreign and Indian nationals differ. Everything else in the itinerary is pre-arranged so there are no surprise costs on the day.
You fly from Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport to Delhi, where a private car meets you for the roughly 3.5 to 4 hour drive to Agra. After your overnight stay and sightseeing, you're driven back to Delhi for the return flight to Bangalore. Because it's a 2-day / 48-hour package, the pace is far more relaxed than the same-day flight version from Bengaluru, which does the whole thing in one long day.
Yes, and this is the real advantage of staying overnight. The itinerary is built around a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal when the marble glows and crowds are thinnest, plus a sunset view from Mehtab Bagh across the Yamuna river, where the Taj is framed beautifully in golden light. A same-day trip simply can't offer both magic-hour windows.
You stay in a 4-star hotel in Agra with breakfast included. It's a comfortable, well-located base that lets you rest before the early sunrise start at the Taj Mahal. If you'd prefer to compare overnight stay options, the overnight stay tour from Bengaluru is a closely related alternative.
The ground experience is private — you get a private car for the Delhi–Agra transfers and your own Govt.-approved guide at the monuments. Only the flights between Bangalore and Delhi are on scheduled commercial services. This means the sightseeing pace, stops and timing flex around you rather than a fixed group.
There's a fair amount of walking on the uneven stone paths of the Taj Mahal complex and the ramps and steps of Agra Fort, but no strenuous climbing. A golf cart is included to shorten the distance from the parking area to the Taj entrance. Older travelers manage this comfortably at a steady pace; just wear supportive shoes and pace yourself in warmer months.
Yes, families do well on this trip. The two-day pace with a hotel night means kids aren't exhausted by a single marathon day, and children are usually captivated by the Taj Mahal and the fort's ramparts. Breakfast is provided at the hotel, and the private car means you can adjust timings around nap or meal breaks.
October to March is the most comfortable season, with pleasant days ideal for sightseeing; April to June in Agra is very hot, often above 40°C, so the sunrise start becomes essential. Wear light, breathable clothing and comfortable walking shoes, and bring a hat and water. You'll be given shoe covers to wear on the marble platform of the Taj Mahal.
Absolutely — the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the river view from Mehtab Bagh are among India's most photogenic sites. Photography is allowed in the outer grounds of the Taj, though not inside the main mausoleum chamber. Sunrise and the Mehtab Bagh sunset are the two best light windows, and your guide will know the classic photo spots.
The "Baby Taj" is the Tomb of I'timad-ud-Daulah, an exquisite white-marble tomb often called a draft of the Taj Mahal, known for its delicate inlay work. It features in this heritage tour alongside the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh, giving you a fuller picture of Agra's Mughal architecture than a single-monument visit.
This is a 2-day overnight package at $950 with sunrise and sunset Taj views. If you'd rather add more sightseeing, the 2-day Taj Mahal and Agra City tour by flight covers more of Agra, while the 3-day Taj Mahal and Jaipur tour extends the trip to Rajasthan's Pink City. Choose based on how many days you have.
The package includes breakfast at your 4-star Agra hotel; lunches and dinners are not included, which gives you freedom to choose where you eat. Agra has excellent options from Mughlai restaurants to vegetarian thalis, and your guide is happy to recommend clean, reputable places. Do let us know in advance if you have any vegetarian or dietary requirements so we can point you to the right spots.
Yes. You're accompanied by a Govt.-approved professional guide and driven in a private car by an experienced driver, so you're looked after from the Delhi airport arrival to the return flight. Agra's monuments are well-policed tourist sites; the main thing to be aware of is persistent souvenir sellers near the gates, and your guide helps you navigate them politely.
Because this package includes pre-booked flights and a hotel night, cancellation terms are stricter than a simple day tour, so please review the specific policy shown at checkout before you pay. To confirm, book online and our team will follow up to arrange your flight timings and transfers. We recommend booking at least a few weeks ahead, especially for peak-season October–March travel.
To catch sunrise at the Taj Mahal, you'll have an early morning start, typically leaving the hotel around dawn. It's an early wake-up, but it rewards you with the softest light and the thinnest crowds of the day. Having stayed overnight in Agra means you're just minutes from the gate rather than facing a pre-dawn long-distance drive.
