Detailed Itinerary

Early Morning Departure from Delhi/NCR

Your unforgettable 2-day journey to the iconic Taj Mahal and the historic city of Agra begins with an early morning pickup at 6:00 AM from your hotel in Delhi or the National Capital Region. You'll be greeted by your professional local guide and chauffeured in a comfortable air-conditioned sedan, ensuring a relaxing start to your adventure. As you set off, enjoy the fresh morning air and the quietude of the city gradually giving way to the scenic countryside. The drive along the Yamuna Expressway will take approximately 3.5 hours, offering picturesque views of rural landscapes, small villages, and the vast expanses of northern India’s heartland.

Majestic Visit to the Taj Mahal

Arriving in Agra mid-morning, your first stop is the breathtaking Taj Mahal, the jewel of Mughal architecture and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Your guide will lead you through the main gates with skip-the-line entry, bypassing the long queues so you can maximize your time inside this UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll explore the sprawling white marble mausoleum, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, and learn about the intricate craftsmanship, the symbolism behind every detail, and the romantic history that inspired this masterpiece. Take your time wandering through the lush gardens and capturing stunning photographs as the sun casts a golden glow on the monument.

Discovering Agra Fort and Cultural Heritage

Next, you will visit Agra Fort, another World Heritage Site located just a short distance from the Taj Mahal. This massive red sandstone fortress was the royal residence of the Mughal emperors before the Taj Mahal was built. Inside its walls, you'll explore palaces, halls, and mosques that tell stories of royal intrigue and grandeur. Your guide will share fascinating anecdotes about the fort’s strategic importance and its role in Mughal history. Walking through its courtyards, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural tapestry of Agra and the artistry of Mughal architecture beyond just the Taj Mahal.

Savoring Authentic Mughlai Cuisine

Around midday, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant renowned for its authentic Mughlai cuisine. This regional culinary style is known for its rich flavors and royal heritage, featuring dishes such as tender kebabs, fragrant biryanis, and creamy kormas prepared with traditional spices. Dining here not only satisfies your palate but also immerses you in the culinary culture that flourished alongside the Mughal empire. The meal offers a perfect pause in your exploration, giving you time to relax and refuel before the afternoon activities.

Optional Stops and Flexible Itinerary

If you wish to extend your cultural journey, optional visits can be arranged upon request. These might include a stop at the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, often called the "Baby Taj," or a visit to local markets where you can browse handcrafted marble inlay work and traditional textiles. Your guide will tailor the afternoon according to your interests, ensuring a personalized experience that matches your pace and curiosity.

Return Journey and Practical Tips

Departing Agra around 5:00 PM, you will enjoy a comfortable drive back to Delhi/NCR, arriving in the early evening with memories of a day well spent. Throughout the tour, wearing comfortable shoes is essential, as you will be walking on uneven surfaces and exploring expansive sites. Carry sunscreen and a hat, especially if you are traveling during warmer months, to protect yourself from the sun. Flying up from Bangalore instead of taking an overnight train made this so easy. The 5am pickup was punctual and our driver was already waiting in Delhi when we landed. Seeing the Taj at sunrise the next morning was worth every bit of the early start. Our Agra guide knew every corner of Agra Fort and told brilliant Mughal stories.

Brilliantly organised private trip. The Yamuna Expressway drive was smooth and the car was properly air-conditioned, which mattered in the August heat. Mehtab Bagh at sunset with the Taj glowing across the river was the highlight for me, even more than the monument itself. Hotel was a genuine Marriott-standard property with a good breakfast.

We are a family of four and the private format was perfect for the kids. The guide adjusted the pace whenever they got tired and found us a lovely vegetarian restaurant for lunch in Agra. The sunrise visit was magical and far less crowded than we feared. Everything from flights to transfers just worked.

A very well run tour and the guide in Agra was outstanding, extremely knowledgeable about the fort. My only honest note is that the day one drive from Delhi felt long after an early flight, so you arrive a little drained. Once we reached the hotel and rested it was fine. The sunrise Taj visit more than made up for it.

Loved the convenience of the return flights being handled for us. No trains, no stress, just show up at BLR. The Taj at dawn in November light was breathtaking and the temperature was perfect for walking around. Our guide helped with the best photo angles and even where to stand for the reflection shots. Highly recommend booking the entry tickets add-on.

Did this in January and the cool weather made all the difference for a comfortable trip. Two days felt like the right amount of time to see the Taj at sunrise, Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh without rushing. Driver was safe and courteous the whole Delhi to Agra stretch. Great value for a fly-in overnight package.

Overall a lovely experience and the private guide was fantastic. Fair warning though, by March Agra was already quite hot by mid-morning and there were plenty of touts around the monument gates. Our guide shooed them off quickly, so it never became a problem. The sunrise timing meant we beat the worst of both the heat and the crowds.

An unforgettable two days. What impressed me most was how seamless the logistics were, from the Bangalore pickup at 5am to landing back home the next evening. The hotel breakfast was generous and the room comfortable after a full day of sightseeing. Standing in front of the Taj Mahal as the sun rose is a memory I will keep forever.

The single tour option at $700 does not automatically bundle them, so we recommend confirming your ticket preference when you book. If you'd rather keep things simpler with a shorter itinerary, our Same Day Taj Mahal Tour From Bengaluru With Flight is worth comparing.
Pickup from your hotel or home in Bangalore is at 05:00 AM, transferring you to Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) for a 06:30 AM flight to Delhi. It's an early start, so we suggest packing the night before and getting an early night. The upside is that you arrive in Delhi around 09:00 AM with a full day ahead in Agra.
After landing in Delhi around 09:00 AM, your driver and guide meet you and you set off for Agra via the Yamuna Expressway, a smooth drive of roughly 3.5 to 4 hours. You'll enjoy scenic countryside views with short refreshment stops along the way, arriving in Agra around 1:30 PM to check in and have lunch.
You'll spend 1 night in a comfortable hotel with breakfast included, with examples being Courtyard by Marriott, ITC Mughal, or a similar-standard property in Agra. Exact allocation depends on availability at the time of booking. If you'd like more time in Agra, the Overnight Agra tour package from Bangalore is a good alternative to consider.
This is a private tour – you get a private AC car/van and your own professional local guide in Agra, so the pace is set around your group. There's no sharing with strangers, which makes it ideal for families, couples, or friends who want flexibility at each monument.
Yes, the itinerary is designed around a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal on Day 2, when the marble glows in soft morning light and crowds are thinner. On Day 1 you'll also see Agra Fort in the afternoon and typically Mehtab Bagh for classic sunset views of the Taj across the Yamuna River.
Expect a fair amount of walking on uneven stone surfaces with some steps and ramps, especially inside Agra Fort and around the Taj Mahal complex. It's manageable at a relaxed pace, and because it's private your guide can slow down as needed. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended for older travelers.
Absolutely – the private format works well for families since you control the pace and can take breaks whenever needed. The sunrise Taj visit is a genuine wow moment for kids, and the AC car keeps everyone comfortable between stops. Do factor in the very early 05:00 AM start on Day 1, which can be tiring for little ones.
Agra can be very hot from April to June, so light, breathable cotton clothing, a hat, and sunscreen are wise; October to March is the most comfortable window. Since these are religious and heritage sites, modest dress that covers shoulders and knees is appreciated. You'll also need to remove or cover shoes near the Taj mausoleum, so easy footwear helps.
Yes, photography is welcome across the grounds of the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Mehtab Bagh, and sunrise offers the most spectacular light. Note that photography is not permitted inside the main Taj mausoleum chamber, and tripods or drones generally require special permission. Your guide will point out the best photo spots along the way.
Because the whole itinerary is coordinated by us, your Agra driver and guide are kept informed of your flight status and will adjust the meeting time in Delhi accordingly. Minor delays are absorbed into the day's schedule. We always recommend arriving at BLR with buffer time for the early morning departure to keep everything running smoothly.
Breakfast at your hotel is included, along with bottled water and refreshments during travel. Lunch and dinner are at your own expense, though your guide will happily recommend good local restaurants – you'll have lunch at a local spot shortly after arriving in Agra on Day 1. Vegetarian and Jain food is widely available across Agra if you let us know your preferences in advance.
This 2-day version lets you enjoy the Taj Mahal at sunrise without the rush, plus a relaxed evening in Agra and unhurried time at Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh. If you're short on time, the Same Day Taj Mahal Tour From Bengaluru With Flight fits everything into one long day, while the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort Tour from Bangalore by Flight is another focused option.
This particular package focuses on Agra over 2 days, but if you'd like to add Rajasthan we offer a 3-Day Taj Mahal Sunrise & Pink City Jaipur Tour from Bangalore with Flights. It builds on the same fly-in convenience while adding the palaces and forts of Jaipur to your itinerary. Just let us know and we can help you choose the right fit.
Simply select the 2-Day Taj Mahal & Agra City Tour (by Flight) option at $700 and complete your reservation online. We'll then confirm your flight timings, hotel allocation, and whether you'd like monument entry tickets added before finalizing. Because flights are involved, we recommend booking well in advance to lock in the best fares and hotel availability.

Yes, foreign tourists must show their original passport or a high-quality digital photo at the entrance gates for security identification and monument entry.
