Tour Itinerary
Hotel Pickup (If tour with car is booked or guide will meet at the Gagdish Temple)
Your tour begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Udaipur. Meet your friendly local guide and start exploring the “City of Lakes” while traveling comfortably by Tuk-Tuk or an optional air-conditioned car.
Visit City Palace
Your first stop is the grand City Palace Udaipur, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Built over nearly 400 years by the rulers of the Mewar dynasty, the palace stands magnificently on the banks of Lake Pichola.
Inside the palace, explore beautiful courtyards, balconies, royal chambers, and museums displaying historic paintings, weapons, and artifacts from the royal era. From the palace terraces, enjoy spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding city.
Explore Jagdish Temple
Next, visit the famous Jagdish Temple, located just a short walk from the City Palace. Built in 1651, this temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is known for its impressive Indo-Aryan architecture.
Admire the beautifully carved pillars, statues of elephants, and detailed stone sculptures that decorate the temple. Your guide will share the religious and historical significance of this sacred place.
Saheliyon Ki Bari – Garden of the Maidens
Continue to the peaceful Saheliyon Ki Bari, a historic garden built for the royal ladies of the Mewar court.
This charming garden features marble pavilions, lotus pools, fountains, and lush greenery. It was designed as a relaxing place where the queen and her companions could spend time away from the royal palace. The elegant fountains and peaceful atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful gardens in Udaipur.
Vintage Car Museum
Next, visit the Vintage and Classic Car Collection Museum, home to a fascinating collection of classic automobiles once used by the Maharajas of Udaipur.
Here you will see beautifully preserved vintage vehicles including Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, and other luxury cars used by the royal family. Your guide will explain the stories behind these historic vehicles and the royal lifestyle of the Mewar rulers.
Old City Walk & Local Markets
After the museum visit, explore the colorful streets of Udaipur’s old city. Walk through lively bazaars filled with traditional handicrafts, miniature paintings, jewelry, textiles, and souvenirs.
Your guide will introduce you to local artisans and help you discover authentic Rajasthani crafts.
Boat Ride on Lake Pichola
End the tour with a relaxing boat ride on the beautiful Lake Pichola. From the water, enjoy stunning views of the City Palace, surrounding ghats, and the famous Lake Palace.
The boat ride offers a peaceful and unforgettable perspective of Udaipur’s romantic scenery and is one of the highlights of the tour.

Traveler Reviews
We took the walking option and it was the best twenty dollars we spent in India. Our guide clearly loved Udaipur and brought the City Palace to life with stories about the Mewar rulers. Wandering the Old City lanes on foot rather than from a car window made the whole day feel personal. The boat ride on Lake Pichola at the end was magical.
Booked the car upgrade for my parents and it was worth every rupee. The driver dropped us right at Saheliyon ki Bari so nobody had to walk far in the heat. Our guide spoke excellent English and paced the day beautifully, never rushing us through Jagdish Temple. Ten full hours yet it never felt long. Highly recommend for families.
Notre guide parlait un francais parfait, which made all the difference for my mother. He explained the carvings at Jagdish Temple in wonderful detail and knew exactly when to reach Lake Pichola for the light. Just remember the entrance tickets are paid separately at each site, so bring cash. A genuinely private and flexible day.
A lovely, knowledgeable guide and a great overview of the city. My only note is that we did the walking option in early November and it was still quite warm by midday, with plenty of steps inside the City Palace. If you feel the heat, pay the extra for the car. Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable and well-organised day.
Exactly what we wanted: no rigid group, just us and a superb local guide. He tailored the route around our interest in architecture and photography, and pointed out viewpoints of the Lake Palace I'd never have found alone. The boat trip on Pichola was the highlight. Great value at this price. Bring rupees for the ticket counters.
Wonderful full day in Udaipur. Our guide met us at the hotel, walked us through the buzzing Old City to Jagdish Temple, then the City Palace, and finished with the lake. He was patient with our two teenagers and happy to slow down whenever we wanted more photos. Modest dress for the temple is worth knowing in advance.
Really solid guided tour with a friendly, well-informed guide. Went in early April and the afternoon sun was fierce, so the palace steps were tiring on the walking option. A few persistent touts near the entrances too, though our guide waved them off. Still, the Lake Pichola boat ride made up for everything. Book the car if you're travelling in summer.
An outstanding introduction to the Venice of the East. Our guide's knowledge of the City Palace complex was remarkable and he customised the whole day to what we cared about. We loved that it was private and unhurried across the full ten hours. Just budget separately for the entry tickets and boat ride. Easily one of our favourite experiences in Rajasthan.
