This is a 3-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Fushimi Inari Taisha, View point and Hidden gem. It is run by Senbon Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari, the deity of rice and business, and its thousand-plus vermilion torii gates, each donated by a company or family, run in tunnels up the 233-metre Mount Inari behind the main hall. The full loop to the summit is about four kilometres and two hours; most visitors turn back at the Yotsutsuji viewpoint halfway. It is open 24 hours and free, which makes it the one big Kyoto sight you can do at dawn or after dark, when the gates are empty and lit. By nine in the morning the lower tunnels are a slow queue. The fox statues carry keys to the rice granary in their mouths.

Sha was very knowledgeable and engaging. He arrived promptly and shared a lot of interesting facts about the most important Inari Shrine of Japan, as well as its status and symbols. He was always at hand to answer any questions, and added a "secret" bamboo forest, as well as a great photo spot along the way. I would definitely do this tour again with Sha.

Kanishka recommended that we meet for the 6am tour instead of 8am and it was the absolute best decision. It was quiet and peaceful and we walked all the way to the top. It was warm but manageable and we did the whole loop. Kanishka was warm and friendly and told us lots of interesting facts about the history and also Japan. A fabulous trip and really enjoyed it. Glad we did it with a guide. Thank you

Sam was an amazing tour guide! It was well worth the time. Sam was very knowledgeable. He made it fun for the kids. And the most amazing part is that he’s a great photographer. We have the best pictures of our trip to Japan thanks to Sam.

It was very fun!! Sam gave us a lot of good information about the temple, and had a lot of interesting facts about Japan in general. We recommend the early wake up for less crowds too. Sam knew all the tips and tricks to make the visit so worth it

Our guide Sha is very organized and friendly. Sha is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Japan, he shared with along the way and many practical tips like some hidden gem, the best way to climb to the mountain top. I had an appointment right after tour, Sha made sure that we have enough time to finish the tour and also helped us to call a taxi. Overall, we are happy the service Sha provided and recommend to any one interested touring in Kyoto.

Sam was very nice and tried to show us the less packed parts of Fushimi Inari even though it was getting full already. He explained a lot and walked us through the whole grounds and gave good hints for other activities.
