Full description
This is a 6-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Train, Fushimi Inari Taisha and Arashiyama. It is run by GuideMe Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari, the deity of rice and business, and its thousand-plus vermilion torii gates, each donated by a company or family, run in tunnels up the 233-metre Mount Inari behind the main hall. The full loop to the summit is about four kilometres and two hours; most visitors turn back at the Yotsutsuji viewpoint halfway. It is open 24 hours and free, which makes it the one big Kyoto sight you can do at dawn or after dark, when the gates are empty and lit. By nine in the morning the lower tunnels are a slow queue. The fox statues carry keys to the rice granary in their mouths.
The price covers Sightseeing tour and guide. It does not cover Lunch, Transportation fee and Entrance fee for Kinkaku-ji Temple, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Kyoto Station. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with GuideMe Japan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Lj was beyond awesome. Very knowledgeable not only about the tour but Japan as a whole. His scope goes beyond his duties. Also a great photographer, he goes above and beyond for his guests
Absolutely loved this tour! We did it in a soaring 34°C heat, but it was 100% worth it. Getting from A to B using public transport to visit all the different sites was actually part of the fun, and the walking made the whole experience even more exciting and memorable. Our guide, Ryosuke (Ryan), was fantastic! He was so accommodating and made everything feel relaxed and completely unrushed. He was also happy to take photos for us along the way, which was such a lovely bonus — we now have some great memories captured from the day. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore
Rin was a fantastic guide and the tour was exactly what I hoped it would be. I had limited time in Kyoto, so to see some incredible sites in the morning left me with time in the afternoon to explore further. The best part was being able to simply follow, and know you will get to exactly where you need to be, without having to navigate a google map! Rin was knowledgeable and shared his local insights. His English was excellent, and the group had a terrific time. Thank you again Rin! Would highly recommend for solo travellers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing experience! The guide is very nice and well prepared. Tour is very well organized, also with a nice break in the middle. Early start is highly recommended to avoid the crowd.
We had the best time on our tour!! Our tour guide Hina was so knowledgeable about all of the stops, gave us a bunch of personalized recommendations for restaurants and things to do after chatting with us and just very fun all around. Also Hina took the BEST pictures!! Truly some of the best pictures of my entire trip were taken by her in Kyoto. Would highly recommend any tour with Hina!
This was such a great tour. Leaving early in the morning meant it was quieter and we seemed to see a lot without feeling rushed. Haruki was a great guide - informative and friendly. I had a great morning and highly recommend this tour
An amazing experience. Very smooth, fun enlightenment and educational. Our guide Rin was amazing. Highly recommend him and this tour. Go early to avoid all the crowds best decision ever.
Excellent guide - Hinano. All by public transport which was great because it meant you knew how to get back to a site if you wanted to return. Really glad I did it. She was very knowledgeable and shared lots of recommendations for food highly recommend
Kenta, it was the best tour i made in Japan. You and Momo are super cool. I wish you the best from the bottom of my heart. Amazing experience, thanks very much
We had an excellent experience with our guide Yu during our walking tour. He provided expert commentary through the tour and answered all our questions. Using public transport around Kyoto helped as it gave welcome aircon breaks during the humid conditions. When booked the tour I thought the 6 hours would be too long, but resulted in a perfect experience. Thank you Yu
Sara was a great guide and ensured that the entire trip was smooth and informative.
Great morning spent on this with our guide Jin, who guided us through Kyoto between the sights. Lucky enough to only have 3 of us on the tour. The early start definitely worth it
