Full description
This is a 4-hour experience in Kyoto. It is run by Pedal Adventure Kyoto, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari, the deity of rice and business, and its thousand-plus vermilion torii gates, each donated by a company or family, run in tunnels up the 233-metre Mount Inari behind the main hall. The full loop to the summit is about four kilometres and two hours; most visitors turn back at the Yotsutsuji viewpoint halfway. It is open 24 hours and free, which makes it the one big Kyoto sight you can do at dawn or after dark, when the gates are empty and lit. By nine in the morning the lower tunnels are a slow queue. The fox statues carry keys to the rice granary in their mouths.
The price covers Live local tour guide, Electric bicycle rental, Helmet, Insurance and Snack. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off, Lunch and Tips, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Pedal Adventure Kyoto sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Pedal Adventure Kyoto before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Our tour was great, our guide Maki was great also! We had a very enjoyable morning and learned a lot about Kyoto and Japan…! Thank you so much Maki..!!
I liked that we got to see do much of Kyoto in a short time. something that walking around couldn't provide. the bikes are easy and fun and the guide was great at explaining things.
We loved our trip with Maki today. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend to others. We stopped at a number of temples, and learnt lots about the culture. It was very interesting as well as a scenic, well paced ride. Lovely day, thank you very much - okini 😊
We had an absolutely incredible experience on the Kyoto E-Bike Tour with Maki! A friend recommended her company to us, and we are so grateful they did!! Maki was an amazing guide! So knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about Kyoto. The 14 km ride through Kyoto’s beautiful back streets, Gion, local neighbourhoods, and temples was such a unique way to experience the city. Visiting Fushimi Inari and Tofuku-ji was incredible, but what really made the tour special was getting to see parts of Kyoto that we would never have discovered on our own. Maki shared so many interesting stories
The tour was excellent even if the starting poo T was hard to find and a little out of the way from my hot. The bikes were all on good condition and fully serviceable everything worked as it should. Full instruction on operation given before we left on time for a great tour. The knowledge that Maki imparted was exceptional and light hearted we learnt a lot about the various shrines and temples and the various power struggles aver the last centuries. A great trip have recommended def to my daughter Rob jones
This was the best e-bike tour I have ever done. Our guide showed us a wonderful side of Kyoto and we now feel a connection to the city that you don’t get by just walking around. She was so well prepared and had everything we needed for a fantastic day out. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto. It was an amazing way to see Kyoto. Thank you! Ookini Maki.
Fantastic tour. Maki is a gem, funny and so interesting. She made this tour so exciting and fun. If you want to ebike in Kyoto, this is the tour you need!
Top notch bike tour w Maki. Local history, graceful instructions, super fun route. Very safe!! Maki has lots of energy and knows how to ensure everyone has fun.
Our bike tour in Kyoto was excellent! It was incredibly informative. We learned so much about the local beliefs, customs, and history, while also visiting hidden spots we never would have discovered on our own. Maki was an amazing tour guide: energetic, fun, and incredibly kind. She made the whole experience enjoyable and memorable. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto!
It was perfect, the guide was smiling all the time, was patient and kind. I would recommend this tour to anyone without hesitation. LOVED IT!!!!!
Maki was an absolutely fabulous guide with a sense of humour, great English, and excellent history and local knowledge - she took us to places we would not have seen without her which were fascinating. The bikes were comfortable and our group of 7 middle aged Australians had no problem with the activity, even riding thorough some busy areas. Mali also took excellent photos for us! Thanks to Maki it was one of our best days in Japan! Highly recommended as a half day activity
The tour was fabulous. Maki was a great tour guide. She showed us areas of Kyoto we never would have seen and a number less touristy places which made it feel like a much more genuine tour of Kyoto. In addition, Maki provided a lot of really interesting information about Japan, its customs and history in a really engaging way. Our 13 year old son loved it too. Would highly recommend, as it was the highlight of our time in Kyoto.
