Full description
This is a 2.5-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Gekkeikan Ōkura Sake Museum, Kizakura Kappa Museum and Fushimi Saka Gura Kouji. It is run by DeepExperience, Inc., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari, the deity of rice and business, and its thousand-plus vermilion torii gates, each donated by a company or family, run in tunnels up the 233-metre Mount Inari behind the main hall. The full loop to the summit is about four kilometres and two hours; most visitors turn back at the Yotsutsuji viewpoint halfway. It is open 24 hours and free, which makes it the one big Kyoto sight you can do at dawn or after dark, when the gates are empty and lit. By nine in the morning the lower tunnels are a slow queue. The fox statues carry keys to the rice granary in their mouths.
The price covers Guide fee, Admission fee and Sake tasting fee. It does not cover Food, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
月桂冠大倉記念館. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with DeepExperience, Inc. before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

If you’re visiting Kyoto and even remotely curious about sake, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Steve. My husband and I just had one of the most memorable experiences of our entire Japan trip, and Steve was the reason. His energy and genuine warmth pulled us right in. This isn’t a “follow me and listen” kind of tour, Steve actually connects with you. Within minutes it felt like we were exploring Kyoto with a friend who just happened to know everything about sake. Here’s what really stood out: we’re not big drinkers, and Steve picked up on that He pivoted the tour to a sake bar where we
Julien was absolutely fantastic! We learned so much about sake history, which was quite fascinating. Our experience would have been lacking had we toured the breweries in our own. Be prepared to drink a lot of sake and truly appreciate the science and history behind sake making. Thanks again Julien!
The tour was good, and Eri was very knowledgeable. It was nice to be able to try so many different sakes after the tour.
Eri was a terrific host. Friendly, lots of information about the experience and also other things we might like to do here in Kyoto.
We had so much fun on our tour of Kyoto sake breweries! Our guide, Julien, was very knowledgeable regarding sake and general Japanese culture and history, which was great for us as it led to great conversations and learning. We recommend this tour whether you are already a sake lover or new to sake (like I was!).
If you are completely new to sake it is perfect tour for you
Thanks to a cancellation, I had Hiro all to myself. By the end of the tour, it felt more like I was hanging out with a friend than being shown the sights by a guide.
We can't express enough how much we loved this tour. It was informative, fun and our tour guide, Masa-San was exceptional with his knowledge. He was fun and a very very good guide with good recommendations for Kyoto and Osaka
Our tour guide Teppei was hilarious, polite and Informative. We really enjoyed our afternoon and visiting the 3 Sake breweries. Although the 18 Sake tasting at the Fushimi Sake Village would have been more than enough for our crew. Arigatou gozaimasu Teppei!
Satoshi was an excellent guide and was very knowledgeable about sake and the region
Julien was amazing, tour was very interesting would really recommend! Must do in Kyoto
Together with my partner we selected private sake tasting for a little extra charge and I must say it was worth it! Mr Yoshi our guide was punctual, very professional, knowledgable about the process of making sake, as well as history of Japan - adding few historical facts made this tour very immersive, allowing us to appreciate Japanese culture even more. This tour was entertaining and educational - taught us about differences between sake types which allowed us to choose the perfect gifts for our friends and family. Mr Yoshi's professionalism is truly outstanding, his approach was very respec
