This is a 2-hour experience in Kyoto. It is run by TakeMe Co.,Ltd., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.

Highly recommended if you’re a foodie or into Japanese culture. We had the 9-course Kaiseki course. It felt so special being in an intimate 120-year-old traditional Japanese house. The staff explained each dish and made sure we have everything we need. The chef/owner even came out himself. The appetizers were my favorite. So light and beautiful. I had the freshest shrimp I’ve ever tasted in my life, plus my first time tasting wagyu beef. Every dish felt delicate and refined. It really felt like I’m in Japanese royalty movie. Es war ein sehr gehobenes Erlebnis. Wir haben das 9-Gänge Menü gehabt und es wirklich genossen. Die Damen waren sehr freundlich und haben alles im Detail erklärt. Sehr empfehlenswert.

What an enjoyable experience with our patient and knowledgeable guide Mihoko. She answered every question thoroughly and thoughtfully and her insights into Japanese culture and society were extremely informative. There was absolutely no difficulty with the language barrier -her English was excellent. I would recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in Japanese history!

My family and I had a wonderful Kaiseki experience in Hanasaki Manjiro. Miki was patiently explaining each course. We had the seven course meal and we enjoyed each course. We also met chef, Soku. They were all very nice and attentive, and gave my family a wonderful experience.
