This is a 8-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Public transport, Kinkaku-ji and Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. It is run by Bond Co., Ltd, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.

This was wonderful. I would give it 6 stars if I could. All due to our wonderful guide Tom Nishino. He is very knowledgeable, explained the history and culture of the visited sites in detail and with nuance. He also helped with the local public transportation, found an excellent sushi place for lunch, and took a lot of wonderful pictures of us. We had decided to for go the walk in Gion and that turned out to be a good decision as the 4 sites took us 8 plus hours - if we had done that we would have been exhausted. We would recommend to do that separately. This is a must if you are interested in

Nel complesso, esperienza eccellente a cui avrei dato 5 stelle.. Grazie alla guida siamo riusciti a scoprire Kyoto nel modo migliore possibile in una sola giornata. L'unico aspetto da migliorare riguarda la descrizione del tour. Al momento della prenotazione avevamo interpretato che il costo includesse anche gli ingressi ai siti indicati nell'itinerario, mentre in realtà i biglietti sono stati pagati separatamente da noi. Consigliamo quindi ai futuri partecipanti di verificare attentamente questo aspetto prima della prenotazione per evitare equivoci.
