Full description
This is a 6-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Tenryuji Temple and Kitano Tenmangū Shrine. It is run by Memory Kyoto Bike Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Arashiyama, on Kyoto's western edge, is the bamboo grove, the Togetsukyo bridge over the Katsura river, the gardens of Tenryu-ji and the monkey park on the hill above. The bamboo path is about 500 metres and is photographed empty in every guidebook because those photographs are taken before 7:30; by mid-morning it is a procession. Rickshaw runs, the Sagano scenic railway along the gorge, and boat rides down the Hozu rapids all start here. Autumn colour peaks in the second half of November and cherry blossom around the first week of April.
The price covers ✓One bottle of mineral water, ✓Expert English speaking guide with comprehensive knowledge, ✓Comfortable and ✓Safety gear: helmets and reflective vests. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Memory Kyoto bike tour. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Memory Kyoto Bike Tour before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
Our guide was excellent and was very tolerant of our late arrival. Bikes were ready to go and very easy to use so there was little delay in getting started. The places we visited were very busy but we still enjoyed each stopping point and we were able to talk and understand our guide throughout the day. The weather turned to heavy rain so I would recommend a poncho as well got soaked to the skin.
We loved our bike tour around Kyoto. the bikes were ewell maintained and the e-power was just what we needed..especially on the last leg! Our guide was very knowledgeable ...explaining the Japanese history and cultural aspects in an unhurried manner....it made the whole experience very memorable.
Our guide, Pochin, was amazing. Very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Our family had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a great day out, were well catered to. It was a small group, the guide was informative, friendly and considerate. I believe they are getting electric bicycles soon which would enable those of us that recently have less bike riding experience. Would highly recommend.
Kyoto i
Very personal and flexible. Highly recommended.
Altamente recomendable!! Graciassss!
