Full description
This is a 4.5-hour experience from Kyoto, built around Train, Fushimi Inari Taisha and Kiyomizu-dera. It is run by OTAKU hopper, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of Inari, the deity of rice and business, and its thousand-plus vermilion torii gates, each donated by a company or family, run in tunnels up the 233-metre Mount Inari behind the main hall. The full loop to the summit is about four kilometres and two hours; most visitors turn back at the Yotsutsuji viewpoint halfway. It is open 24 hours and free, which makes it the one big Kyoto sight you can do at dawn or after dark, when the gates are empty and lit. By nine in the morning the lower tunnels are a slow queue. The fox statues carry keys to the rice granary in their mouths.
The price covers Passionate Local English-Speaking Guide and Stunning professional photos will be taken during the tour. It does not cover Public Transportation Fare, Entrance Fees:Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Meals and drinks, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Kyoto Station. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with OTAKU hopper before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Ikki was awesome! Our tour, specifically, felt very private as it was just me and another couple. I was solo traveling in Kyoto and worried I wouldn’t get any “Instagram-worthy” photos, but Ikki over delivered. He took tons of pictures from different angles and even suggested poses! I left with photos that made my friends think I’d hired a personal photographer, while the couple got some adorably corny ones I’m sure their families will love. The tour itself was amazing, full of fun facts, cultural details, and hidden gems you’d never find on your own. Ikki also showed us how to respectfully ap
This was one of the highlights during our time in Kyoto! Ikki was an amazing tour guide and was so passionate about sharing the history and culture of the shrines and other historical landmarks. It was so nice that he taught us about how to properly pray at the Shinto shrines. He took the time to answer all our questions and point out the little details that we would not have noticed. Plus he was so kind to take lots of photos for us for our memories! It was a privilege to learn about Japanese culture from him and we really enjoyed spending our morning with him!
I chose this for our first day in Kyoto, to get a sense of how to see the sites. Absolutely wonderful tour! Mariko was really knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had, as well as help navigate the shops and shrine offices. I very highly recommend this tour!
We absolutely loved the tour It was a truly memorable experience. Our guide was not only incredibly professional but also spoke perfect English with ease and charm. Always smiling, he shared fascinating insights and little-known facts that brought every place to life. He even gave us fantastic tips for the rest of our trip, making us feel like locals in no time. And to top it all off, he captured some beautiful photos that we’ll cherish forever
We had a fantastic time with Ikki, who explained us every detail about how to act in Japanese temples, different facts about history and traditions, it was super interesting ! We perceived Japan in totally different way after this tour, also he is very kind guide, totally recommend ! Thank you for picture as well, we will definitely cherish them ! :)
We absolutely loved our tour with Ikki-san! Definitely the highlight of our stay in Kyoto, and maybe even our entire trip. Ikki is so knowledgeable and did a wonderful job explaining all of the Shinto and Buddhist shrine and temple traditions. We loved getting to learn more about Japanese culture through a native’s perspective. I couldn’t recommend this tour more!
