Kyoto Private E-cycling: Iconic Highlights or Quiet Serenity by Local Operator
Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Kyoto, built around Kyoto Imperial Palace, Demachi Futaba and Shimogamo-jinja Shrine. It is run by Tasty Tours Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.
The price covers guide, E-bike rental and Helmets. It does not cover Food and drinks, Meal expenses and Port/Airport pickup/drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
SunnyCycle Gojo -Bicycle Rent-(京都レンタサイクル サニーサイクル). We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Tasty Tours Japan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We did the 6 hr tour with guide and it was an amazing day mykato was our guide who took us to some beautiful places sometimes off the beaten track which we would not have found without his guidance. 11 and 13 year olds loved the bikes saved there feet from walking and were able to see much more.
We booked a four hour bike tour through Kyoto and it was absolutely amazing. Weeks before the bike tour we got out in contact with our amazing guide Kei, and then he planned the perfect tour from our likings and preferences. It was the perfect way to see and experience the city in a calm way - both attractions and local authentic parts of Kyoto. We can recommend this so much as our guide Kei was truly an amazing guide and the most lovely person. He answered all of our questions and we had lovely conversations with him. He was considered, kind and had a lovely and calm presence. Big recommendat
We loved every minute of our personalised ebike tour from the warmth and knowledge of our wonderful guide Kiyoto to the magnificent sites of beautiful Kyoto. Kiyoto introduced us to his culture, food and the history. The bikes were fantastic making riding some of those steeper slopes a breeze. 10 out of 10 for this tour; we would do it again and highly recommend it!
We had a really nice tour with Yonnie as our guide. We got a message before our tour started with a suggested route, which we could adapt to our wishes. She then changed the route a little bit and also found a really good lunch place that suited our dietary wishes as well. Yonnie taught us a lot about the history and we really learned to appreciate Kyoto a lot more (at first we were a bit overwhelmed by how crowded and touristy it was, so we asked her to show us some less touristy spots and we saw the most amazing temples with almost no tourists!). Thank you so much for the amazing tour, we ha
Very friendly, knowledgeable guide who was flexible and helpful with lots of information. He took the scenic tour when possible. A great way to see the city! Thanks Kai
As a first-time visitor to Kyoto, I was thrilled to explore the city’s traditional beauty with Yonnie. She gave insightful explanations at each site and expertly navigated us away from the heavy crowds to experience Kyoto’s quiet alleys. Her sharing of local, lesser-known trivia was a fantastic bonus. It was a highly rewarding experience overall, and I strongly recommend Yonnie’s guided cycling tour!
This was my second time visiting Kyoto, and I went with friends who had never been before. The first time I came, I mostly experienced the crowds and some of the darker sides of tourism. I was rushing between the most popular spots without really understanding what makes Kyoto so special. While it was still fun, I realized afterward that I missed the peace, quietness, history, and warmth that Kyoto is really known for. Because of that, I decided to book this bike tour, and I genuinely really enjoyed it. The schedule was flexible, and Kei was very accommodating to our preferences and timing. Yo
We enjoyed our bike ride and it was easy to find the bike shop We were able to see many of the big sites in Kyoto and our guide was knowledgeable and helpful.
Our guide Kei was just incredible! He really planned our tour beforehand up to our wishes what we wanted to visit, really individualized everything and checked in on each and every single one of our preferences! He even showed up with raincoats at the start of our tour because it was supposed to rain later. He even offered to switch it into a guided walk if the rain became too heavy. Even though it was super rainy we had so much fun. Kei really planned everything so well and cared so much. We even got tips for restaurants for dinner that evening! Highly recommend going for the tour with Kei!!
THANKS a lot Mana, for all your input, links and fotos you send me afterwards. These was of great value for us during yesterday. Luckily the weather was beautiful so we spent the full day as tourists together with thousands of other tourists too😂😂 but......we had a great time and we really enjoyed our bike tour with you as well 🙏🙏👍👍👌👌 even though is was raining all day 😄 we saw things on the tour that we was SO grateful for - you took us around to small non-tourist places, and told us the history about your beautiful and kindness people and country 🙏 you did the tour very special for os 🙏 Than
Kei is a super friendly guide full of attention to see that you have a good time and brings you to special , local places which only locals can find . Despite the rain, we had a perfect day in Kyoto !
We had a great 5hrs tour with Yuhey. He planned the tour 100% according to our preferences, sometimes even spontaneus during our bike ride. We visited places we would have never found on ourselves and had some great food stops, too. On top he sent us a lot more recommendations for sightseeing, food and shopping. But honestly, the best about this tour was Yuhey himself, he is such a funny and kind person and it felt like exploring Kyoto with a good friend. When we will come to Kyoto again we will definately do another tour with Yuhey 🫶
