This is a 1.5-hour experience in Kyoto. It is run by B.B.Advisors Inc. AN KYOTO, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Gion is Kyoto's historic entertainment district, the streets of wooden machiya houses around Hanamikoji where the geiko and maiko of the Gion Kobu district still work. They are working professionals on their way to engagements, not performers for the street, and Kyoto has banned photography in the private lanes; an evening walk with a guide who explains the ochaya system is the respectful way to see it. Tea ceremony sessions in Gion teach the basic form of matcha preparation in an hour. Kimono rental for a day, with dressing and hair, is an established business around the district and is welcomed rather than resented.
The price covers Dinner. It does not cover The following options are not included in the price, If you would like one, Tea ceremony option: 1,600 JPY and SS seat, so budget for those separately. It was a fantastic experience, the Maico was extremely friendly and kind, food was great and the staff so nice!
A Memorable and Enriching Dinner Experience Dinner with Maiko was a truly wonderful experience! Maiko and her assistants were incredibly welcoming and friendly, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere from the start. What made the evening so special was learning about Maiko. The conversation was as enriching as the meal itself. It felt more like an evening with friends than just a dinner event. I left with not only a full stomach but also a deeper appreciation for the journey Maiko has been on. Highly recommended!
I wanted to try Maiko experience while I'm in Kyoto. This option fully satisfied my expectations. After reservation I received detailed instructions about time and place. I came in advance to the meeting point. We took our tables. Mine contained dinner. First we were instructed. Then maiko came. She was young like a flower. She greeted to everyone and we started with marcha preparation. Then she answered questions and we had a photosession slot. After maiko showed 2 dances and finally we were managed to play konpira game with her. It was really fun. I enjoyed and knew about rules and got a bit
it was fantastic, being able to photo and video at any time was great. I was so looking forward to this experience and it did not disappoint. Perhaps an explanation of their history and importance in Japanese culture.
A wonderful evening of great food , excellent friendship and wonderful locations. Tom, our guide was great!
Our little Maiko was lovely. She answered many questions (wish there was time for more), she danced for us and played a game similar to Rock, Paper, Scissors, with audience participation. Our meal beautifully presented and delicious. Great value for money compared to many others.
It was fun, entertaining and informative. The maiko questions and answers were enlightening and the game was fun. The MC kept the pace well and we all got a chance to take pictures with her. The food was decent and overall we had a great time and learnt a lot.
I loved having the opportunity to interact with Maiko. I also love her dance and the game. I think the food can be improved a little bit, but other than that. I enjoyed having this experience. Highly recommended!
The interview with Maiko was interesting and the host was very pleasant. The food had been sitting out awhile and wasn’t great. Long wait for just water to drink. It was fun to play the game and take pictures, but dinner not recommended.
Fun experience and would recommend
The show and maiko was perfect. It was really fantastic experience. The food was tasteless but it was not the point of the event
