Full description
This is a 2.5-hour experience in Kyoto. It is run by Kendo Experience, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.

This was a great experience and one I would highly recommend. The guys were very friendly and helpful. They explained everything so well and har a good sense of humor about it.
While obviously for tourists this was really a fantastic activity which we all enjoyed including my 15 year old daughter and 18 year old son. You really get to participate in the various stages of creating a ninja weapon which you also get to take home with you. Well worth it! The people leading the activity were excellent.
Had the best time. Forging kunai in a small mountain town was worth very penny. Highly recommend.
Amazing educational and an amazing time thank you!
Never search for this place on Apple Maps! Learned this the hard way lol, but the staff was accommodating, friendly/nice, patient, and so helpful. My Husband & I had an amazing time. Please keep in mind if you pay before the class to make a Kunai you're only allowed to make one weapon not two. We paid for the upgrade to make kunai's each but we chose to make one shuriken & one kunai, then missed out on the 3,000 Yen because the company has a "no refund" policy. But totally worth it, this was a fun class I would recommend it to everyone!
Amazing experience to use equipment and forge our own ninja weapons with the additional fun of shuriken throwing at a target! The instructors were all very knowledgeable, but entertaining at the same time! Would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Japan!
This was one of the most amazing experiences and how much my son loved it makes it even better. I did have make a mistake and we ended up catching a wrong train that led us to be 5 minutes late. I had sent te instructors a message to let them know, they were understanding so I was very happy at that also. The entire experience is amazing you get to sharpen the weapon of your choosing and also get to engrave it with Kanji or your name if you want. Then you get to hammer your weapon to harden it. Then you take off oxidation with a liquid. The last step is adding some oil so it doesn't rust and t
So much fun and a great way to learn about Japanese culture and history. Left with my personal weapon which is the best souvenir I could hope for!
Fun and entertaining activity for tourists seeking a craft made collectible. Staff made the experience enjoyable for everyone.
Fun activity for parents and teens. The NIN studio team was helpful and friendly.
My son and I really enjoyed the class. We each made a different weapon. The instructors explained the process well, and helped everyone through it at their own pace without impacting others. The complexity was spot on. Recommend.
This was an amazing experience! It as myself and kids (18, 15 and 10). The instructor was so informative and patient. I loved that we also learned some history about the weapons. And the end product was absolutely beautiful and a perfect keepsake.
