Full description
This is a 1-hour experience in Kyoto. It is run by GLOBA Inc., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.
The price covers Museum tour with Professional guide, Samurai costume and Ninja star throwing. It does not cover Transportation to/from attractions, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Very informative and we love the Ninja stars or shuriken activity and the opportunity to wear samurai costumes.
Mami did amazing! She was very knowledgeable and answered so many questions. it was fun throwing the shuriken and learning about both the samurai and ninja. We arrived a bit late and they allowed us to join the next group. We were very happy we were able to experience this amazing guide!
Love the tour. way more interesting the National Museum if you like Samurai and Ninja. Guide, Mami, gave very good interactions with the group.
This tour was the last activity we did before leaving Kyoto and it was time well spent. Great historical presentation and opportunity to hold various swords, throw ninja stars and dress up in Samurai armor was a lot of fun. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Kyoto.
Very energetic and engaging guide. Easy way of delivering. Can be longer with guide vs own time, bit rush
It was really good, my tour guide was very knowledgable as well as making it fun, l loved how we had to all throw those ninja stars and l actually won lol
very nice experience and very interactive. our guide Saku came with a very good energy and plenty of information.
Interesting and informative, definitely worth a visit
Sayo was a lot of fun and super energetic! We were even able to join a slightly earlier tour. We loved the photo taking area with the props and the staff gave us guidance on posing and proper holding techniques for the props.
Our guide, Miu, was very fun and it was interesting to hear her representing the fascinating history of the Samurai and Ninja. The amazing history involved with their hierarchy. Really cool stuff. We got to try our luck at throwing shirikan stars (rubber ones, for safety). I'm hopeless, but was so much fun to give it a go. I'd highly recommend the tour. You'll get more out of it than just visiting.
Sayo was an amazing guide with so much energy and knowledge. Moving us along at a really great pace, with enough time to read and take in the amazing artefacts including original armour, katanas, disguises and all of the creative weapons the ninja developed. A worthy tour that takes about an hour (longer if you’d like to hang about and discover more)! Thanks Sayo for making this already good tour experience great
