Full description

This is a 1.5-hour experience in Kyoto. It is run by SUSHI GARYU, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Kyoto was Japan's capital for over a thousand years until 1868 and has 17 UNESCO-listed sites among some 2,000 temples and shrines. The big three are Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, covered in gold leaf and best in morning light; Kiyomizu-dera, the wooden stage on the eastern hills with the Higashiyama lanes of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka below it; and Fushimi Inari's gates. Nijo Castle has the nightingale floors that squeak against intruders, and Ryoan-ji the rock garden. Temples open around 8:00 or 9:00 and close at 17:00, and the city bus is slow; a day with a driver or a guide who orders the stops against the crowds is the difference between four sights and seven.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und das Sushi war sehr lecker und hochwertig. Auch das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die Sake-Variationen waren sehr vielseitig. Aber hier der Wermutstropfen: für ein Sake-Tasting hat uns jemand gefehlt, der uns die verschiedenen Sake in Herkunft Geschmack und Hintergründe erklärt. Es war mehr oder weniger ein Sake-Selbstbedienungsladen mit „All you can drink“

You can serve sake to yourself whenever and whatever amount you want. and the sushi is literally amazing.

It wasn’t really a tasting but more like “here are 10 bottles of sake and here is a paper page with the title of the bottles and taste profile - you have 75min to drink whatever you want” :) The omakase was more like “here is a plate of 10 sushis, each a different flavor”. The sushi’s were delicious, the bluefin one was our favorite and it was nice trying the self-guided sakes. The place smells like new ^^, it was empty and there wasn’t an atmosphere but we enjoyed the work they put at it. We didn’t regreat it, but we did feel like this could be improved. Was just ok :)

We wish to report that this activity was terrible. The fish was not good quality (Very chewy and did not seem fresh) and there was no explanation of the sake we were drinking which is disappointing. The staff really were not interested in us.

Das Sushi war ok. Leider gab es ein Missverständnis. Wir dachten es handle sich bei der Aktivität um ein geführtes Sake Tasteing. Aber es war einfach 90min unlimited sake und dazu 8 Stück Sushi.

they should put a disclaimer that its not a group activity , you literaly sit alone and drink sake for 75 minutes and you get a sushi at the end. if you book this take it to consideration, other then that the staff was nice.
