Full description
This is a 1-hour experience in Osaka. It is run by Matcha Experience Osaka, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.
The price covers Standard wood, All tools and equipment, Finishing oil / coating and Instructor support. It does not cover Premium wood, Name engraving option and Food and drinks, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

a nice mindful exercise in making your own chopsticks. Each step can be done with enough time left over for engraving if you wish.
The activity was amazing and our host was so kind and clear with the instructions, best activity ever ☺️
It was a very nice experience, we enjoyed it alot and the stuff are very kind and helpful
It was a perfect afternoon. Despite the fact that I mixed up the days (vacation brain!) the instructor was accommodating to our large group and even allowed us to add 2 more people into the mix. We spent more than an hour following each step of the chopstck making process, enjoying the air conditioning, classical piano music in the background, and lull of wood shavings and sand filling the air. Our guide told us a small bit of history about chopstick origins and made sure we were assisted as needed throughout the process. Kazuki was a great guide and this activity is well worth the time!
This was a hilarious and heartwarming experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun way to learn about traditional Japanese chopstick making. A solid 10/10!
Super fun! They did a fantastic job guiding us and spoke great English. Well worth the subway ride over to that part of town!
This was a fun family activity, had signs in English that helped us find it, our instructors were engaging and had a lot of Japanese history to share with us.
Everything was great, the host is very nice and explains everything so well. Really liked the experience and recommend to all!
I will never take advantage of chopsticks again. Making them is hard work. Although it was a fun activity and the perfect souvenir from Japan!
Really really cool experience ! Would recommend 100%
Awesome class! Very interesting and love how my chopsticks came out. My mom made really good ones too.
