Full description

This is a 3-hour experience in Osaka. It is run by City Unscripted, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

The price covers Private and personalized 3-hour street food tour with a, Online questionnaire sent after booking to tailor your, 6-8 street food tastings selected based on your preferences, Two local drinks and Get picked up. Taiga is a friendly and knowledgeable guide and he brought us to a few good places that the local would know for good food and drinks. Highly recommended.

I wanted to have a later night type tour, so I booked it to start at 8. Turned out to be a mistake since the lines were insane for all the famous spots, and by the time we went back to try again they spots had closed. Fumiko was amazing though, and she rolled with it and found back ups that were also delicious! Loved the whole tour around Dotombori with my friend for the evening!

We signed and paid for “street food” tour. We were taken to restaurants to eat in. That’s not what we wanted nor was that what was said when we booked. Also no information was talked about on the tour. Nothing. Very disappointing for the money we paid.

We enjoyed our guide. She was knowledgeable about the area she took us to. We let her know we weren’t too adventurous and she respected that. We definitely got a sense of the specialties in Osaka.
