Full description
This is a 4-hour experience in Osaka, built around Osaka Castle, Train and Shinsekai. It is run by Wasabi, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.
The price covers Expert Local Guide: A passionate insider to share hidden and Orientation & Travel Tips: Custom recommendations for local. It does not cover Transportation fee and Food & Drinks: Samples at the markets are paid individually, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Ōsakajōkōen Station. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Wasabi before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
Absolutely outstanding! Stephanie is the best guide we have ever had in all our extensive years of travel. We took her tour on arrival in Japan as two women new to japan and its culture and language. The tour was so relaxed with great content and historical knowledge and definitely high quality. Stephanie reads the needs of her clients very well to tailor tours to meet your expectations. However her outstanding quality is her care and kindness.
If you’re considering a tour of Osaka, book Stephanie—you won’t regret it! She was so exceptional that after returning to Tokyo, I took the Shinkansen back to Osaka three days later so my parents and brother could experience a tour with her too. Stephanie is incredibly articulate, kind, and engaging. Her knowledge of Osaka, Japanese history, culture, architecture, and local life is truly impressive, and every stop was filled with fascinating stories and insights. As someone who was pregnant, I especially appreciated that I never felt rushed. She was thoughtful, patient, and made the day enjoya
