Full description

This is a 9-hour experience from Osaka, built around Bus/coach, Kobe and Kitano Ijinkan-Gai. It is run by Lucky Day Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

The day trips out of Osaka each have one reason. Himeji has Japan's finest surviving castle, the White Heron, an original of 1609 with six floors of wooden interior, its plaster re-whitened in a restoration completed in 2015; the climb to the top keep is steep and the queue at cherry-blossom time is long. Kobe has the beef, sold by grade at counters where you watch it cooked, and the harbour. Koyasan, two hours south, is the mountain monastery town founded by Kukai in 816, where 117 temples sit in a cedar forest and Okunoin cemetery is the largest in Japan; a night in a shukubo temple lodging with vegetarian shojin ryori is the reason to go.

The price covers Round-trip transportation from Osaka, driver, Tour guide, Air-conditioned tour bus and All taxes. It does not cover Lunch and Personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

1-chōme-3-6 Nipponbashi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0073日本. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Lucky Day Travel before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

This was a good trip with 4 stops: port area, European style mansions, town of Arima and the night view observation area. This was not a tour nor was it guided, so there wasnt any explanation or us walking as a group as you would normally do on a TOUR. The driver, Lin safe driver did his job to drive us but barely spoke English and just dropped us off at each location without giving any background info, interesting facts, history etc. I hope the company prepares better next time!

This is such a great day trip out of Osaka. It’s worthwhile getting out to see Kobe, a nice change of pace for the day! Our tour guide, NickLee, did a great job of keeping us safe whilst driving, and gave us some great tips and information as the day went on. Thanks!

Nick was a stellar, personable and engaging driver who gave us loads of free time to explore Kobe Port and Kinato Old Town. The views from Mount Rokko are the most stellar I have ever seen. Thank you, Nick for a wonderful trip. Peace, mate.

The day trip was excellent , it’s was relaxing and we had enough time in each place to explore and eat if we wished, you get to see all you need in Kobe, the last stop which is the cable car ride city view is very impressive and we got some great photos. Excellent value for money. Our guide ( name was Yang ) spoke excellent English and had extensive knowledge of Kobe which he happily shared with everyone, he was very friendly and happily took pictures for us all. Highly recommend this day trip.

Brilliant trip some great sights and very well organised. Bit bad that they left one of the party because she was five minutes when some people had been late on previous stops of fifteen minutes and didn't get left. She was a solo female traveller and I felt it was unnecessary to leave her and unfair. Another few minutes and she would have made it. I know they have a schedule to meet but you can't allow some people to be fifteen minutes late and not take action and punish one person for being five minutes late. Totally unprofessional in my opinion

Yes — Nara is about 30-45 minutes by Kintetsu train for the deer park and Todai-ji, and Kyoto is roughly 29 minutes by JR Special Rapid. Both are easy half-day or full-day trips. See our Osaka to Nara guide and Osaka to Kyoto guide.

Yes — it's the city's neon-lit entertainment and food district, and while it's undeniably touristy, the energy, canal-side glow, and street food density make it genuinely worth an evening. See the Dotonbori guide.
Shinsekai is Osaka's retro, slightly gritty downtown district built around the Tsutenkaku Tower, known for kushikatsu (fried skewers). It's generally safe for tourists, especially in the daytime and early evening. See the Shinsekai guide.
