Full description
This is a 1-hour experience in Osaka. It is run by Sushi Making Japan | Cooking Class in Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.
The price covers Cooking class, Ingredients and Instructor. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

We had an amazing time! The matcha was amazing and Fujiko was so helpful and nice! It was so refreshing to be in an experience with someone so kind and welcoming. The matcha tasted like the best matcha I ever had we also had some traditional snacks like Taiyaki and Mochi! I’m so happy we came and I booked this!
Sho #1 was a fantastic host!! We learned the history of Matcha, and played a couple rounds of quizzes related and then began the matcha making. It was fun experience and we would highly recommend !
-Matcha making class was amazing! I learned so much and Fuko, our host was great. She explained everything to us really well and helped us with each step! The treats and matcha were amazing.
The Matcha class was a great activity. The Japanese local host made the class fun and took care in explaining the history of matcha and taught the process well. I had an awesome experience and would highly recommend it :)
Experience was great. Really friendly host too, Hinata.
We had a wonderful experience with Fujiko. She was knowledgeable and made the experience really fun. Highly recommend.
If you love Matcha, if you enjoy tea, or if you just want to do something fun then takr this class! I really enjoyed having Reika as my teacher who told me about the history of Matcha, its effects and nutritional value, as well as how to properly conduct a mactha ceremony!
We really liked our guide Lala giving us a look into Japanese tradition and culture! Matcha whisking is harder than I thought. We also appreciated the very interesting information about the Japanese language!
Fuko was amazing. The traditions and the culture behind it is incredible. I recommend everyone take it.
It was very nice Fuko was a great host and helped us learn about matcha from the start!
Everything was amazing 💖 thanks to Sho number 1 for a great class!
What an amazing experience! Since I was the only guest, Hinata could have simply gone through the program as planned, but instead she went above and beyond. She took her time, answered all my questions, and shared fascinating insights into Japanese tea culture. Her enthusiasm and genuine hospitality made this one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. The Matcha tasted fantastic, and I left with a much deeper appreciation for the tradition behind it. Thank you, Hinata, for making this such a memorable experience. I would book it again without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone lookin
