Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

The tour guide was very kind and very enthusiastic and ready to chat! He explained the culture and history behind the location clearly, and the views were beautiful. The snacks and meal were also delicious. This was a great introduction to the area if it is your first time there. It's definitely good value and I had a lovely time :)

The trip was relaxing and a very good alternative to escape the buzzling downtown of Osaka for a few hours. Transport is just about 30m by train fm JR OSA-Station. Walking through old and nice forest, it can be walked on road or by a not difficult hiking course (mainly) along creek with small ups and downs. Atmosphere at waterfall is nice, it was not crowded at our visit. Highlight was the lunch we had included at a traditional Japanese Soba-Restraurant with homemade brooth - I had selected curry taste that had nice incredients. Our guide Taka spoke perfect English and explained all details, n
