Full description

This is a 4-hour experience from Osaka, built around Minoh Nature Trail, Ryuan-ji and Minoo Falls. It is run by Cornwall Ltd, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

The price covers local guide, Admission fee, Transportation and Guided hike to Minoh Waterfall. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Hankyu Minoh Station. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Cornwall Ltd before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Harry-san is such a wonderful person! For first-timers in Japan, we would definitely recommend him. His explanations go far beyond simply telling you about the places you’re visiting — we learned so much about Japanese religions, traditions, and local tales, which added so much value to our trip. We’re especially glad that Minoh and Katsuo-ji were among the very first temples and shrines we visited in Japan. Harry-san took the time to show us the dos and don’ts at temples and shrines, and explained how customs differ depending on the type of place you’re visiting. These are the kinds of detail

Maria was absolutely amazing! Even though I was the only person on the tour that day, she kept things super interesting and packed with great info. The spots we visited were beautiful, and moving from the waterfall to the shrine was effortless. I especially loved the shrine tour itself. Having her as my guide truly elevated the whole experience, and I also appreciate her photography skills. 🤩

Maria was really friendly and knowledgeable. The hike was not for the faint hearted in the humidity but the waterfall was worth the effort as was the temple. A lovely day.

This was such a good tour! It was so much better with a guide. He had so much useful information that made it so much more fun. And the little hike to the waterfall was amazing! Since it's so far to get out to Katsouji temple, I think this coupling made a really nice day!

A great way to see 2 different but beautiful sites in Osaka. The walk to Minho waterfall was lovely with lots to see before reaching the waterfall which was stunning. Katduo-ji temple is brilliant. Very beautiful and with lots to see and do. Maria was a great guide. She was lively, knowledgeable and informative. As a local, she had real passion for the area and gave us some great insight and information.

Shoes off at every hall, quiet voices, and no photographs inside the halls unless a sign allows it. At a shrine, rinse hands and mouth at the basin, then bow twice, clap twice and bow once; at a temple, hands together without clapping. Dress is relaxed, but shoulders and knees covered is the courteous choice.
