This is a 2-hour experience in Osaka. It is run by OSAKA HAUNTS, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

wonderful night tour with a highly knowledgeable guide, who'se storytelling gave the weight of the events the much needed gravitas.
Our guide was fantastic all round! Very friendly and informative. He really knew his stuff about the castle's history and gave it the weight it deserves with his chilling storytelling. The tour was amazing and the information incredibly complete from all sources, from local beliefs to documented information. Our guide met us in a great location and even made sure we knew how to get back to our hotel, truly above and beyond.
Niall was incredibly knowledgeable on all things related to Osaka Castle. He made the tour very interesting and was super approachable and was happy to answer our questions and show/take photos at the various locations around the castle. I would strongly recommend anyone to take part. If you are sceptic of the supernatural, going on the tour could potentially change your mind!
The whole tour was just great! It was very interesting to hear the stories about the castle and what happened around it. History was interwoven with haunted stories, which helped to get a feel for the place. We had chills in some places and could feel the atmosphere of something strange around us. Highly recommend!

This is a fascinating historical tour of Osaka castle in the quietness of an evening which adds to the eerie ambience. The guide is a wealth of knowledge and very personable and welcoming. Well worth going.

The history of the castle is truly fascinating, and the way everything was told made it even more special. All in all, we would absolutely book this tour again! Nile was wonderful! We had the benefit of having him to ourselves instead of a larger group. Nile gave a detailed account of Osaka history, which is a bloody history, and interwove it with accounts of hauntings that my teens and I both enjoyed. I found his perspective of Japan as a foreigner living here almost a decade really fascinating. It made for a really interesting couple of hours and was much better than the self-guided tour we did a couple years back. I’ll also say that the castle by night is stunning. 5 stars. Highly recommended experience.
We had so much fun on this tour! Niall, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable of the history of the area and all of its fascinating history. We were able to ask lots of questions and weren’t made to feel rushed at all. We had a really lovely evening and I would highly recommend this tour.
