This is a 6-hour experience in Osaka, built around Osaka Castle, Osaka Tenmangu Shrine and Sanadayama Sankō Shrine. It is run by Voyagers Co LLC, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

Hassan was great. He had a lot of insight on the religions, food, and and culture of Japan. We had a wonderful day touring Osaka’s key sites and shared a delicious udon lunch. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to get an orientation on Osaka, get a feeling for the food scene, and get a feeling for using Osaka’s wonderful transit system. Really the best!
