Full description

This is a 2-hour experience from Osaka, built around Katashimo Wine Food. It is run by Goen Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

The price covers Wine Tasting, Small Bites with Wine, guide and Wine Museum Tickets. It does not cover Additional Tasting, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

カタシモワイナリー 直売所. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Goen Japan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Was unexpectedly alone for this tour with my guide Kai which made it even more special to learn abt the history of wine production in this city. I actually met the owner Risaburo Takai who is as jovial as you see on their Instagram profile. Kashiwara is a hidden gem of a place being this near to busy Osaka.

Our guide did a great job explaining the area and the wine making in Japan. We got a tour of the winery and museum, and we spoke with the owner of the Vineyard. We are quite this tour and we highly recommend it. Its easy to get to the Vineyard by train and it's a nice walk from the train station in a beautiful neighborhood. Hidden gem!

Such a great tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the winery and gave us an amazing tour. She shared many interesting and useful things, and we especially loved how she took us through the Shinto shrine, showed us beautiful views, and sharing her knowledge with us about local history, customs, etc. This was such a unique experience, the area was so nice and quiet, we felt like we had the entire vineyard to ourselves. This was so different compared to the rush and congestion of our tourist sites. And most importantly, the wine was fantastic.

Very informative Guide and an Interesting Winery. We also got to know local History and visited a beautiful Shrine. The Guide herself spoke very good english and answered all of our Questions. The different Wines and Juices tasted very good. We highly recommend this Tour to anyone that is interested in Japanese Culture and Wines.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour and tasting experience. It was fascinating to learn about the history and winemaking process, especially given that this is the last remaining winery in the area. Our tour guide was incredibly friendly and informative, which made the experience even more engaging. It was a real highlight of our first trip to Japan. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region. It was also wonderful to explore a local town outside of Osaka and get a glimpse of everyday life there. The journey from Osaka was quick and easy, making the whole experien

Było super pomimo ogromnego deszczu. Mogłam zadawać pytania i zawsze miałam odpowiedzi. To dobra wycieczką i dla ludzi nie znających się na winach jak i tych, którzy chcą rozszerzyć swoją wiedzę o winach na świecie. Gorąco polecam!

Yes — Nara is about 30-45 minutes by Kintetsu train for the deer park and Todai-ji, and Kyoto is roughly 29 minutes by JR Special Rapid. Both are easy half-day or full-day trips. See our Osaka to Nara guide and Osaka to Kyoto guide.
Takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (savory pancake) are Osaka's signature street foods, best sampled around Dotonbori and Kuromon Market. See our Osaka food guide.
Yes — it's the city's neon-lit entertainment and food district, and while it's undeniably touristy, the energy, canal-side glow, and street food density make it genuinely worth an evening. See the Dotonbori guide.
Shinsekai is Osaka's retro, slightly gritty downtown district built around the Tsutenkaku Tower, known for kushikatsu (fried skewers). It's generally safe for tourists, especially in the daytime and early evening. See the Shinsekai guide.
