This is a 3-hour experience in Osaka, built around Osaka Castle, Train and Shinsekai. It is run by GoWithUs Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

What a fun morning! Our guide, Diego, met us at our hotel. It was a rainy day and he came prepared with extra umbrellas. We had a really pleasant time touring the beautiful gardens at Osaka Castle while Diego shared its history with us, plus visited several other stops in Osaka that we walked and/or took the train to reach. He also gave us some great restaurant tips and shared insights about Japan and its culture. A tour I would definitely recommend!

Had a great time with Elijah! Very informative and friendly. Really enjoyed seeing the sights and being shown the local public transport system. Brilliant intro to Osaka on our first day. Thoroughly recommend.

Abi was a wonderful guide. Very pleasant and knowledgeable. The pace was perfect for us. We visited numerous historical sites and never felt rushed. My daughter mentioned her interest in pop culture so was thrilled that this was something Abi also included in parts of her guided tour along with other popular landmarks and attractions. We requested a small lunch break and she found a nice little spot along the way. All in all a great day. Thank you Abi!

We had a wonderful day out in Osaka. Our guide Elijah showed us many interesting places where he always had useful background information. He was very helpful and managed to meet our pace and our interests. All in all it was a very satisfying experience we can wholeheartedly recommend.

I reflected on my tour the following day and I learnt so much information that just getting around Osaka on my own the following day was so less stressful but also the indepth knowledge about the history was so interesting and enjoyable to listen to.
