Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Osaka. It is run by Cooking Sun, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.
The price covers All the ingredients in the cooking class. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Cooking Sun sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Cooking Sun before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Our instructor was so kind and encouraging! We made delicious food under her watchful eye!
We had a fabulous afternoon learning traditional cooking techniques for gyoza and making ramen noodles from scratch. We also made soup broth and enjoyed a feast. The instructors were absolutely wonderful and explained everything really well. We had a class of three so it was intimate and very enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience.
This should be your number 1. priority when visiting Osaka! This was one of the highlights of our whole trip. The staff were so friendly, funny, welcoming, helpful and overall just fantastic. The facilities are clean, tidy and full of everything you need. the cooking is well paced without feeling like you're rushing. for non-Japanese speakers, the staff's level of English is exceptional. We did it in a pair but there was also a family attending the class and it was suitable for children too. This is a memory we won't forget and two recipes that we will be taking home. We did the gyoza and rame
June and Bella our teachers were fabulous. The whole lesson was superb and the food I cooked with the teachings from the experts was delicious

Was a lovely end to our trip to Japan, I would highly recommend this class to anyone with a interest in cooking Japanese food
We had a great afternoon making gyoza and ramen. Our guide was very knowledgeable and supported us through every step with clear instructions. We really enjoyed our finished dishes. A great family activity.
We had an amazing experience yesterday doing the ramen and Gyoza class. The two guides were kind, welcoming and patient as they took us through the steps. The class was small (7 guests present for our class but accommodates 8) meaning the guides had time to give us one to one help and advice. I am so glad we booked this experience, it is my favourite thing we have done in Japan. Now I know how to make ramen and Gyoza I will be making them all of the time when back in Australia! Thank you so much!!
Really good and personal. Very nice man with great English and passion for cooking typical Japanese cuisine.
