Full description

This is a 10-hour experience from Osaka, built around Bus/coach, Katsuoji and Kobe Sanda Premium Outlets. It is run by Trip2EU, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

The day trips out of Osaka each have one reason. Himeji has Japan's finest surviving castle, the White Heron, an original of 1609 with six floors of wooden interior, its plaster re-whitened in a restoration completed in 2015; the climb to the top keep is steep and the queue at cherry-blossom time is long. Kobe has the beef, sold by grade at counters where you watch it cooked, and the harbour. Koyasan, two hours south, is the mountain monastery town founded by Kukai in 816, where 117 temples sit in a cedar forest and Okunoin cemetery is the largest in Japan; a night in a shukubo temple lodging with vegetarian shojin ryori is the reason to go.

The price covers Small-group vehicle transportation for a maximum of 9 guests, Pick-up and drop-off within the JR Osaka Loop Line area, Meeting point at Vessel Inn Shinsaibashi, Transportation between all attractions listed in the and Katsuo-ji Temple admission ticket. It does not cover Lunch and other meals, Hot-spring bathing fees at Arima Onsen, Optional experiences and activities not listed as included and Shopping expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Hotel pickup in Osaka. Trip2EU confirms your pickup time and the exact spot once the booking is in. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Trip2EU before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We had a wonderful experience on this Japan day tour. The driver was punctual, drove safely and smoothly, and provided excellent service. Our guide was friendly, patient, and attentive throughout the trip. Everything was well organized, and we were very satisfied with both the driver and the guide. Highly recommended!

I booked this tour with a friend. I liked it a lot. The Katsu-Oji was my favorite activity. Afterwards came a lot of Shopping opportunities and to relax in an Onsen or spend more time shopping. The guide BO was really attentive and supportive. He talked in English and also send you all time lines and key facts via WhatsApp to prevent any misunderstandings. I liked the tour very much!

Often not in shared baths: many onsen still refuse visible tattoos or ask for a cover patch. Private baths and a growing number of tattoo-friendly onsen get round it. Tell us when you book and we confirm with the operator which applies to this one.

April for cherry blossom around Osaka Castle, or November for peak autumn foliage and the year's lowest rainfall. Both are the most crowded and most expensive months, so book hotels 3+ months ahead. See our best time to visit Osaka guide.
Get an ICOCA IC card (works interchangeably with Suica/Pasmo) and tap on/off the subway and buses. The Osaka Amazing Pass bundles transit with free entry to Osaka Castle and dozens of attractions if you're sightseeing hard for a day. See getting around Osaka.
Three days covers the essentials: a day for Osaka Castle and the city center, a day for Dotonbori and Shinsekai, and a day for a Nara or Kyoto side trip. Our 3-day Osaka itinerary has the full route.
Yes — Nara is about 30-45 minutes by Kintetsu train for the deer park and Todai-ji, and Kyoto is roughly 29 minutes by JR Special Rapid. Both are easy half-day or full-day trips. See our Osaka to Nara guide and Osaka to Kyoto guide.
Takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (savory pancake) are Osaka's signature street foods, best sampled around Dotonbori and Kuromon Market. See our Osaka food guide.
Yes — it's the city's neon-lit entertainment and food district, and while it's undeniably touristy, the energy, canal-side glow, and street food density make it genuinely worth an evening. See the Dotonbori guide.
Shinsekai is Osaka's retro, slightly gritty downtown district built around the Tsutenkaku Tower, known for kushikatsu (fried skewers). It's generally safe for tourists, especially in the daytime and early evening. See the Shinsekai guide.
