This is a 13-hour experience from Osaka, built around Bus/coach, Kumano Hongū Taisha and Kumano-Nachi Taisha. It is run by SANSAN旅行株式会社, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Osaka is Japan's kitchen: the city that invented takoyaki, okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, and Dotonbori's canal of neon signs is where it eats them. Osaka Castle is a 1931 concrete reconstruction of Hideyoshi's fortress with a museum inside and a moat and park worth an hour; Kuromon market is the food market; Shinsekai is the retro district under Tsutenkaku tower; Umeda Sky Building has the open-air observatory. Osaka is the base for day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji and Koyasan, all under an hour and a half. The city is louder and cheaper than Kyoto and its people are known for it.

The experience is a must to do when you are in Osaka. Our guide Yan Lei was very interactive and knowledgeable about each location. He also made sure to show us how to travel the complete path. He also made sure to write and translate the complete guide for the tour which made the experience even more worth it. The trip ended with a foot onsen and snacks provided by Yan and while overseeing the mountains. 10/10 activity and guide
Hanasawa-san was a great driver, the tour lets you go "at your pace" and in between spots it explains you the history of Kumano Kodo, highly recommend if you like to go more "in your own way".
Our guide was fantastic. He was informative and made sure directions were clear. We loved taking this trip and would recommend it to anyone interested in visiting these shrines in a short amount of time.
We had a great time visiting the main shrines and temples of the Kumano Kodo. Hanazawa was agreat tour guide/driver. It‘s a long day, but well worth it.
This tour was great from start to finish. Everything was well organised, smooth, and stress-free. Our guide was punctual, incredibly friendly, and efficient. The itinerary was perfectly paced, giving us plenty of time to take in all the highlights without ever feeling rushed.
It's more like a taxi service from Osaka to all the shrines rather than a guided tour. The driver didn't speak English. When we arrived to the places, we were given small maps to understand where to go and the time limit. In the bus there were short recordings played explaining the shrines we are about to visit. To be honest, I like this approach, it let us see the places with our pace and with no need to stick with the group. Everything was ok. The guide, although not speaking English, was very helpful and kind. Everything was translated by AI and information was very good. Tour Is wonderful with great things to see, even when it is raining.
It was a very long trip, so this tour is very comfortable with no hassle to drive. The temples are very nice. Taian was also very gentle. The trip ends with a well needed foot bath in hot mineral water. Great Trip!
